Muslim Charged with Raping 15 Year Old Twice in Northampton

A suspected rapist has appeared in court after allegedly attacking a teenage girl in Northampton town centre.

Ismail Ahmed, a 26-year-old of Elizabeth Walk, Northampton, appeared before magistrates yesterday charged with two counts of rape on the same alleged victim, a 15-year-old girl.

The girl, whose identity is protected, is alleged to have been attacked in the area of St Edmund's Road near to Palmerston Road, just off Wellingborough Road in the town centre.

It is alleged the rapes took place at some point overnight between Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2.

Following a brief hearing at Northampton Magistrates' Court yesterday, Ahmed will appear for a preliminary hearing at Northampton Crown Court at a date to be set later this month.
