Horrible Histories

The following is a clip from a BBC history programme aimed at children.

It's riddled with factual inaccuracies, but the shrill, hectoring tone and the general anti-British content gives an interesting view of how the BBC views British history - and would like us to.

We actually fund this tripe.

A count of the lies and inaccuracies can be found in the comment section here.

Hat tip: Biased BBC.

A bunch of shrieking, dressed up, greasy UAF/SWP scum! Appalling! I loved history solely because I had great teachers when I was young.

EDL will have to make some proper videos for children.

I couldn't even bear to watch the clip. This sort of thing sickens me.

I really can't express how much i loathe those smug creeps.

Why didn't Queen Victoria mention the works of Shakespeare!?!?!

Obviously the British man who wrote them was heavily influenced by non-British writers like Ovid and Montaigne, but that doesn't change the fact that the origin of the works is in Britain.

Shakespeare is at least as British as cotton is "American."

I dearly hope things will change for you in Britain. They failed to mention in the video that while tea was from India it was not really drunk there until the British colonials popularized it. (Same goes for yoga, which is rarely performed in India, but making a comeback due to western reintroduction.)

The communist overtones are overwhelming. Europeans all seem badly hypnotized by eco-fascist enviro-communism. Not that I dislike the environment, but I'm not going to dismantle my culture for some trees and fields. Besides, these people are always open borders, which is way worse for the environment in the long run.

How horrible beyond belief for you.

As an American, I can only offer my sympathy on this willful and hateful distortion of history. As you know, things aren't any better here in the States.

Actually, I watched this the other day and being a newcomer, didn't intend to comment on it. But I can't get it out of my mind. And I know it must be even worse for you.

Who ever thought things would come to this?

I hope you can post the title so it can be found again. The video has been taken down.
