Anders Fogh Rasmussen Disappoints in Turkey

Anders Fogh Rasmussen became something of a legend during the Danish cartoons crisis in 2006 - although he didn't do or say anything overly special or controversial, he didn't bow down to Islamic blackmail, violence or pressure.

For that alone, he became a figure many wished all Western leaders would emulate in their dealings with the Muslim world, where tolerance and freedom of speech only works one way.

Since becoming NATO's Secretary-General, Rasmussen has bee something of a disappointment, however.

He seems to feel his duties are more about sucking up to the Muslim world and pretending he is a nice guy than running an organisation which is currently at war with certain facets of Islam, as his recent actions in Turkey have proven:

NATO's new secretary general reiterated respect for Islam on the first day of his visit to the alliance's only predominantly Muslim member.

Anders Fogh Rasmussen is in Turkey for two days to discuss NATO operations in Afghanistan and improve relations ith the Muslim world.

"Please see my presence here tonight as a clear manifestation of my respect for Islam as one of the world's greatest religions," Fogh Rasmussen said Thursday at an iftar - the evening meal that breaks the fast during the holy month of Ramadan - with Turkey's leaders.

"I have he deepest respect for people's religious feelings," he said.

Fogh Rasmussen became secretary general Aug. 1, after Turkey withdrew its objections to his candidacy. Turkey initially opposed his appointment because, as Denmark's prime minister, he infuriated many Muslims following the publication in 2005 o cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad.

Fogh Rasmussen distanced himself from the cartoons but resisted calls to apologize for them, citing freedom of speech.

Turkish leaders said the choice would antagonize Afghanistan and Pakistan, both predominantly Muslim countries.

Fogh Rasmussen also angerd Turkey by opposing its membership in the European Union.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan used the event Thursday to criticize terrorist acts carried out in the name of Islam, urge greater respect for Muslims in the West and push for Turkey's EU membership.

I have the utmost contempt for this individual now. No job or position is worth betraying all your principles for; and that is exactly what Rasmussen has done.

Turk Connected to German Terror Plot Arrested - He Was Bound for Pakistan

A Turk living in Germany has been arrested as he attempted to leave the country, bound for a training camp in Pakistan:

German authorities said Friday they had arrested a man suspected of aiding a terrorist bomb plot, and a newspaper said he was picked up as he was leaving for a training camp in Pakistan.

The federal prosecutor's office in Karlsruhe said Kadir T, aged 24, had been remanded in custody after a hearing.

T is the latest accused from a group of young men, either of Turkish background or converts to Islam, who grew up amid German affluence and volunteered to join the jihadist cause.

The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper said police swooped when T left home, bound for an Islamist camp somewhere in the lawless zone along the Pakistan-Afghan border.

Investigators suspect he purchased a video camera and a rifle night-vision sight which an associate delivered to the Islamic Jihad Union (IJU), a shadowy group similar to al-Qaeda.

He was linked to four men who have confessed during their current trial in Germany to plotting bomb attacks in Germany against US bases so as to spread terror among the German public.

Prosecutors said T was associated with one of the plotters, Adem Yilmaz, a German national of Turkish ethnicity, who asked him in June 2007 to buy the devices.

Yilmaz sent a brother, Burhan Yilmaz, to the camps with the consignment in October 2008, prosecutors said. Yilmaz and two other men were arrested in September 2007 in a country village in the German region of Sauerland.

Earlier this month the trial of the four men revealed that they planned to start small, with around 150 slaughtered Americans and other assorted infidels.

U.S. Military Chief Blames Western Behaviour for Muslim Hatred

The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen, has criticised Obama's attempts to reconcile with the Muslim world through dialogue - because he doesn't think such efforts go far enough whilst "American behaviour is perceived as arrogant, uncaring or insulting."

Of course, he offers no solutions, because there aren't any - whatever America and the West do will always be perceived as uncaring, arrogant or insulting by many - particularly whilst we're busy telling them that it is, we are, and we're so very sorry.

In fact, the greater lengths we go to be completely inoffensive, the worse things will get, as the Muslim world expects us to bow and scrape over the smallest things, or even live like Muslims to avoid ultimate offences such as eating pork, drinking alcohol or not showing respect to Mohammed.

Admiral Mullen also fails to recognise that some things deserve to be insulted or simply disregarded - I'm worried and disappointed that such a thing does not occur to a man in his position.

The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff has written a searing critique of government efforts at “strategic communication” with the Muslim world, saying that no amount of public relations will establish credibility if American behavior overseas is perceived as arrogant, uncaring or insulting.

The critique by the chairman, Adm. Mike Mullen, comes as the United States is widely believed to be losing ground in the war of ideas against extremist Islamist ideology. The issue is particularly relevant as the Obama administration orders fresh efforts to counter militant propaganda, part of its broader strategy to defeat the Taliban and Al Qaeda in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

“To put it simply, we need to worry a lot less about how to communicate our actions and much more about what our actions communicate,” Admiral Mullen wrote in the critique, an essay to be published Friday by Joint Force Quarterly, an official military journal.

“I would argue that most strategic communication problems are not communication problems at all,” he wrote. “They are policy and execution problems. Each time we fail to live up to our values or don’t follow up on a promise, we look more and more like the arrogant Americans the enemy claims we are.”

Free Muslim Science Text Books Given to British Schools

An educational foundation has announced plans to distribute free books to UK schools to highlight the scientific and cultural legacy of Muslim civilisation. 1001 Inventions is the brainchild of the Foundation for Science Technology and Civilisation (FSTC) – a network of academics dedicated to debunking the myth of the so-called “Dark Ages of Civilisation”.

Last month, atheism activist Richard Dawkins announced plans to distribute free DVDs to UK schools. Whilst FSTC does not consider it’s 1001 Inventions campaign a direct challenge to Dawkins, it does hope to encourage debate about the relationship between science, faith and culture.

FSTC has campaigned for school curriculums to acknowledge the scientific achievements of Muslim civilization for more than a decade. While the Dawkins campaign, supported by the British Humanist Association, positions science and religion as opposing forces, the 1001 Inventions project reminds us that for 1000 years the religious and the scientific were comfortable bedfellows and led to unprecedented openness to new ideas and social change.

The book that accompanies the project is entitled 1001 Inventions: Muslim Heritage in Our World and highlights the thousand years of social, scientific and technical achievements that are currently under-recognised in schools’ textbooks. The project aspires to deliver at least 3000 copies of the book to UK schools by October 2009, and is seeking public support for the campaign through a sponsorship scheme (as has Dawkins).

Professor Salim Al-Hassani, chief editor of the book, explained: “The period between the 7th and 17th centuries, that has been erroneously labeled ‘The Dark Ages’ was in fact a time of exceptional scientific and cultural advancement in China, India and the Arab world. This is the period in history that gave us the first manned flight, huge advances in engineering, the development of robotics and the foundations of modern mathematics, chemistry and physics.

Many of these things will be pure lies and distortions, unsubstantiated claims that cannot possibly be proved, or simply overblown - but they will doubtless be taught as fact.

Doctor to Be Sued for Using Term "Negro Skin"

A reference to “negro skin” in a letter from Royal Berkshire Hospital has left a Whitley mother and her daughter angry and upset.

Alice Chigumira, an assistant social worker, from Whitley Wood Road said her 17-year-old daughter “was really in distress” after reading the letter from consultant plastic surgeon Andy Pay.

In a letter to the chief executive of the hospital Mrs Chigumira said of the letter to her daughter Michelle Mzari: “I find this a racist, derogative statement and very offensive.

“I was so shocked, let alone perplexed that a learned person who is a consultant at this time and age can use such language.

“This is political (sic) incorrect and unprofessional.”

She has also sent copies to Reading Council for Racial Equality and the Equality and Human Rights Commission in London.

Mrs Chigumira, 44, comes from Zimbabwe and is on the management committee of Reading Refugee Support Group.

She continued in her letter of complaint: “My daughter is 17 years old and quite aware of how negro was a word used to subject black people to derogative, racist statements.

“When the world is trying by all means to live in harmony, it is unfortunate that there is still a society of a highly qualified doctor who is not sensitive to such things.

“No amount of apology can be enough to my daughter and me. It has left us wondering how then she will be treated if she does manage to get the operation done.

“I work hard with the community to try and bridge a gap of such discrimination and to get good quality services for ethnic minorities only to have such statements opening the floodgates of racism in the NHS.

“As a civil servant myself, I do not subscribe to such language which leaves people feeling lesser.”

Professor Ann Sheen, chief executive of the hospital trust, said: “We have received the complaint from Ms Chigumira regarding correspondence following her daughter’s appointment with a consultant plastic surgeon who holds an honorary contract with our trust.

“A full response and explanation will be sent to the family.

“However, I would immediately wish to apologise for what was a wholly inappropriate phrase in the letter.

“I would emphasise that the trust is totally committed to equality and diversity and we are determined to strive to provide nothing less than excellent service for every patient in our care.”

I would say that these individuals are trying to get on the gravy train, but it sounds like they are already riding a good one - an immigrant from Zimbabwe who spends her working life aiding and abetting the further colonisation and decline of large parts of the country which was generous enough to take her in. An achievement in many respects, considering she can barely string a sentence together.

That's gratitude, eh?

I was never aware that the term 'Negro' was a form of racial abuse - I was under the impression it was a neutral, descriptive term, like 'Caucasian'.

I suppose there is the possibility that it can also be a medical term.

But no - the health trust has already apologised and stated its commitment to 'equality and diversity', which have become about the most sinister words in the English language.

That pretty much means that, right or wrong, this doctor is on borrowed time.

No apology can ever be enough for such slights, as Chigumira notes - until the cheque book comes out, that is.

Expelled Student Took a Fake Gun to College

A gun-toting teenager who caused armed police to be called to the City of Bristol College has been jailed for six months.

Samia Shakoor, 18, had a grudge after being expelled and pointed the BB gun at security guard Philip Amesbury, Bristol Crown Court was told yesterday.

Her actions prompted police with guns to swoop on the scene, ordering her to drop face down on the pavement and arresting her at gunpoint.

Shakoor, who had no previous convictions, collapsed in the dock as she was handed the sentence and had to be helped by her mother.

Shakoor, of Glenfrome Road, Eastville, pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence in February.

Imposing sentence, Judge Michael Roach told her: "It may have been a prank, but this sort of offence is regarded very seriously by the courts. You may have known it was only a BB gun but to those who saw it, it would have been immensely frightening. You were in possession of that weapon, on a busy street, close to the city centre and pointed it at passing cars and people. This is not a minor offence."

James Tucker, prosecuting, said Shakoor was a student at the college described as having a "very nice manner". He told the court, though, that her attendance became poor and she developed unruly behaviour which included swearing at staff.

Having been expelled in July last year, she was re-admitted only to be permanently excluded the following month and had to be ejected from the college a number of times – including by security guard Mr Amesbury.

Mr Tucker said: "On February 3 this year a man in a woolly hat complained to Mr Amesbury he thought he had been hit in the head with a stone. Mr Amesbury saw the defendant in a black Nissan Micra and she was pointing a BB gun at him. He heard a pop, which he believed was the gun going off; he believed it was a BB or airgun."

The court heard a lecturer standing at a window observed Shakoor holding the gun out of the vehicle, and two students saw a man hand her the weapon before she pointed it.

Mr Tucker said: "The defendant fired it at a passing vehicle and, as a result, the police were contacted.

"Because of the nature of what was reported a tactical firearms team was activated by a codeword and an unmarked car pulled up and they drew live weapons."

Virginia Cornwall, defending, said: "It was an immature act. It was more of a prank than anything else."

Miss Cornwall said her client had given very little thought to the consequences as her friends had used the gun to shoot at each other.

The court heard Shakoor had suffered emotional difficulties in the past but was from a law-abiding, respectable family and was believed to have promise for a better future.

Caribbean Cafe is Not Diverse Enough

A ROW has erupted after Islington Council ordered the closure of a popular Caribbean café in a youth centre because "it was not diverse enough".

Paul's Café, at the White Lion Youth Centre in White Lion Street, Islington, is being forced to serve its last portion of stewed chicken next month - despite a petition signed by more than 200 customers.

Work on a £3million refurbishment of the centre is due to start in September, but Islington Council has told café manager Paul Thomas his food "only appeals to a specific group of young people".

Citing the results of a consultation evening held in May, council leader Terry Stacy said: "It's vital we make sure what's offered is bang up-to-date and reflects the diversity this borough is famous for."

In a survey, 35 youngsters were asked what facilities they currently used at the centre. Around a third said Paul's Café, while 14 gave no answer at all.

Mr Thomas, 48, who has run the café for four years, said: "I've got over 200 signatures from all nationalities and backgrounds - Asian, Caucasian, Trinidadian, all over Africa. There are a lot of disgruntled people who are not happy at what the leader of the council said.

"I'm trying not to get into saying its racial but some people have said that. It's a lie to say we only cater for a certain group of people. If people ask for it, I do them white food, but everyone comes here because they want Caribbean food.

"White kids from the estates on Cally Road come here for it, people from Chapel Market come here - you don't have to be Caribbean to enjoy Caribbean food."

Of the 35 youngsters consulted just nine came from a Caribbean background. Others gave their ethnicity as British, Irish, Bangladeshi, Portuguese, Nigerian, Eritrean, Morrocan, Congolese, Kenyan and Somali.

The consultation report states: "A high proportion of individuals were buying food from the café. The young men in particular who were consulted valued the gym and café."

Michael Potten, 20, of Old Street, a youth worker and former head of EC1 Youth Forum, said: "I use it all the time. It gets a diverse range of people not just in terms of ethnicity but age as well.

"Everyone comes to Paul's from various different backgrounds - white, Turkish, Asian. It's quite upsetting because it's been there a long time, so why change it? How many people have Chinese food that aren't Chinese? Any background can enjoy food."

Centre user Natalie Harrison, 19, added: "I've done dance classes, DJ-ing and MC-ing here since I was a kid - the café is all part of that."

Councillor Terry Stacy, Leader of Islington Council, said: "The views of users and non-users were fully taken into account in coming to a decision. I understand some people will be sad to see Paul's café move out but the timeframe will allow him to relocate.

"We're taking a look at what facilities should be provided - not just refreshments but training opportunities for young people.

It's a Caribbean cafe - what are people to go there and expect?

This country is becoming a mental asylum.

Civil Unrest in Brussels

Esther at Islam in Europe reports that the Ramadan festivities are going with a bang in parts of Brussels, with several agents of the state beaten up, cars burnt, and immigrant gangs openly calling for violent insurrection:

The past couple of nights there were various disturbances and unrest in the Brussels suburbs of Anderlecht and Sint-Jans-Molenbeek. Different news reports give different accounts of what appears to be different or similar incidents.

Thursday night a stone was thrown at a police car in Moleenbeek. About an hour later youth set fire to car tyres and then threw stones at the police when they showed up. The police showed up and was confronted with about a hundred youth. Several cars and doors were vandalized. Wednesday afternoon a police patrol interrogating a victim of a violent robbery in the Anderlecht suburb of Brussels, was circled by a growing group of youth. The police felt threatened and called in reinforcements with police-hounds.

The inspection of Brahim (25) was also exceptionally difficult. Stones were thrown at the agents, and they decided to put the dogs back in the car and calm the situation. This didn't work. Brahim threw the inspector down the steps of a metro-station and beat him black-and-blue.

A colleague couldn't get Brahim off the inspector and only when a third agent showed up with a hound could Brahim be kept in check. Till the last moment the young men tried to incite the crowd against the agents. Meanwhile, the security services were dealing with a group of youth who were troubling workers at the Rustplein in Sint-Jans-Moleenbeek.

Additional reinforcements were sent there too.

Elsewhere youth set fire to a parked car, in order to challenge the agents. Several minutes later, there was a confrontation between a group of a Pakistanis and a group of North Africans, the former suspecting the latter of stealing a bike. The 'suspect' had nothing to do with the case, but the atmosphere in the neighborhood was tense. Later a police car stopped a Renault Clio in Sint-Jans-Moleenbeek. Two of its three passengers were suspected of trying to cause riots a few days earlier. One of the passengers had drugs in his possession, and the registration documents were not in order. This inspection also caused tensions, but the situation was was quickly calmed down.

It is not the first time that incidents are provoked by the youth. The procedure is always the same: The police is lured somewhere, and when they get there they discover the pavement has been smeared with slippery mud. Then the youth start throwing things at them. The police in Anderlecht is planning more patrols, preventive measures, and talks between the municipal council and the representatives of the immigrant community.

Hudson New York has an article which mentions the frequent violence and unrest found in Muslim areas of European cities during Ramadan:

It is hot in Brussels. Ramadan has begun. The faithful in the predominantly Muslim borough of Molenbeek are not allowed to eat or drink from sunrise until sunset. Non-Muslim policemen, patrolling the streets of Molenbeek in their sweltering cars, are not allowed to eat or drink either. As every year during Ramadan, that they have been told by their superior, Philippe Moureaux, the Socialist mayor of Molenbeek, they have to respect Muslim sensitivities and not to “provoke” Muslims by violating Islamic Ramadan restrictions in public. In effect, Islamic or Sharia law is already applied - for everyone - in the Muslim areas of Brussels.

Barely two miles from Molenbeek lies Brussels’ European district. One of its huge glass and concrete buildings is the European Parliament where the elected representatives from the 27 members states of the European Union (EU) convene. The 736 MEPs (Members of the European Parliament) have just returned from their summer break. They are mostly unaware of life in Molenbeek. Most of them never go to that part of the city. It is probably a sensible decision, because Molenbeek is known to be unsafe for non-Muslims. Nevertheless, it is a shame that Europe’s politicians are unaware of day-to-day life just around the corner. It means that most of the 736 MEPs, who make up the second largest democratically elected assembly in the world (after India), do not know what life really is like in an ever growing section of Europe’s urban areas. A walking tour of Molenbeek should be compulsory for every MEP.

Some friends in Brussels organize one-hour trips through Molenbeek. They go in an inconspicuous car, driven by a local who knows the escape routes, and with a bodyguard. Otherwise the risk would be too great. These trips are called “safaris.” Similar “Eurabia Safaris” are organized in other European cities. One of the highlights - though absolutely not the most dangerous one - of the safari in Rosengaard, the Muslim section of the Swedish city of Malmö, is a short stop, to give the visitor the opportunity to take a quick snapshot, in front of Malmö’s “Jihadskörkortsteori” (Jihad Driving School).

• A Tunisian was arrested for assaulting a passerby in order to steal her purse. His accomplice, of North African origin, is a fugitive.

• A Colombian arrested for stealing a wallet. During the search of his home, police found numerous items stolen in recent weeks.
• An Algerian was arrested for assaulting a passerby to steal his I-phone. His accomplice is still at large.

• A French national, a native of Marseilles, was arrested for stealing a credit card and then for withdrawing the sum of 4,500 CHF.

• One Russian was arrested for stealing a car in sunglasses and ski passes.

Switzerland was a peaceful, orderly society before mass immigration - indeed it was famed for its well run, clean society.

This list is part of a wider pattern; it certainly seems that small, homogeneous and high-trust societies suffer far more as a result of mass immigration, particularly when the immigrants are unassimilable and from corrupt, violent, low-trust societies.

An inevitable clash - but one which seems to mystify most of our ruling elites.

Pervert Teacher Keith Ogunsola Spared Jail

I have written previously about the case of Keith Ogunsola, a Nigerian-born science teacher convicted of sexually assaulting a young schoolgirl in his charge, and who seems to have gotten away with or been 'warned' about very inappropriate behaviour many times before - dating back to 2000.

Today a judge spared him from jail - citing his bad heart. This is also the debut of this case in the mainstream media, a month and a half after I began following it here.

The judge had previously told Ogunsola that a jail sentence was inevitable - and despite praising the bravery of the young victim, clearly showed his contempt for her and the rest of us:

A science master who French kissed a 14-year-old girl and asked pupils about their sex lives was spared jail yesterday because he has a heart condition.

Keith Ogunsola, 44, grabbed the teenager in his office before kissing her as she tried to push him away.

The married father also embarrassed girl pupils during a chemistry revision class by asking if they had performed sex acts on their boyfriends.

Ogunsola had been warned last month that he faced an inevitable prison sentence.

But Judge Martyn Zeidman, QC, suspended a 12-week jail term for 12 months after reading medical reports. The judge said: 'Certainly what you have done doesn't deserve a death sentence.

'I'm just persuaded that it would be right in the circumstances of this case to suspend the sentence of imprisonment.

'You will never again be employed as a school teacher. My primary concern is to protect members of the public and other potential pupils.'

The judge praised the victim's courage, adding: 'I want to pay tribute to the girl who bravely made this complaint. She's a very impressive young lady.'

Ogunsola was banned indefinitely from working with under-18s and will be placed on the sex offenders' register for five years.

Snaresbrook Crown Court in East London heard how Ogunsola struck at the school where he taught in Ilford, Essex, on February 27 last year.

Describing her ordeal in Ogunsola's office, the girl said: 'He put his arms around my waist and said, "Do you want a kiss?"

'He pulled me close and then kissed me and put his tongue in my mouth.

'I pushed him away. He pulled me really close. He was holding my wrists and he kissed me again.'

She said she was 'shocked' by Ogunsola's advances and simply 'froze'. She said Ogunsola asked her: 'Aren't you supposed to be my Valentine?'

The girl said she reminded Ogunsolahe was married with children. 'I said, "You have got a wife and kids and I have got a boyfriend". He said, "Dump your boyfriend".'

The girl said Ogunsola had asked her about her love life, and added that other girls at the secondary school had described him as a 'pervert'.

Jurors heard how Ogunsola asked other girl pupils of 14 and 15 whether they had performed sex acts on their boyfriends. He also warned the youngsters that boys were 'only after one thing'.

A jury convicted Ogunsola, of Banstead, Surrey, of sexual assault but cleared him of an attempted

The former headmaster of the school in Surrey revealed Ogunsola had been warned about his conduct with girl pupils prior to the alleged assaults in 2000.

2005. sexual assault on a girl of 15 at the same school in February 2006. Jurors also acquitted Ogunsola of two indecent assaults on teenage girls at a school he taught at in Carshalton, Surrey, between January and May 2000.

Ogunsola left the school in Surrey in 2001 before stints at Islington Green School, North London, and the Pimlico Academy in Westminster before moving to Ilford in, Essex, on February 27 last year.

Describing her ordeal in Ogunsola's office, the girl said: 'He put his arms around my waist and said, "Do you want a kiss?"

'He pulled me close and then kissed me and put his tongue in my mouth.

'I pushed him away. He pulled me really close. He was holding my wrists and he kissed me again.'

She said she was 'shocked' by Ogunsola's advances and simply 'froze'. She said Ogunsola asked her: 'Aren't you supposed to be my Valentine?'

The girl said she reminded Ogunsolahe was married with children. 'I said, "You have got a wife and kids and I have got a boyfriend". He said, "Dump your boyfriend".'

The girl said Ogunsola had asked her about her love life, and added that other girls at the secondary school had described him as a 'pervert'.

Jurors heard how Ogunsola asked other girl pupils of 14 and 15 whether they had performed sex acts on their boyfriends. He also warned the youngsters that boys were 'only after one thing'.

A jury convicted Ogunsola, of Banstead, Surrey, of sexual assault but cleared him of an attempted sexual assault on a girl of 15 at the same school in February 2006. Jurors also acquitted Ogunsola of two indecent assaults on teenage girls at a school he taught at in Carshalton, Surrey, between January and May 2000.

Ogunsola left the school in Surrey in 2001 before stints at Islington Green School, North London, and the Pimlico Academy in Westminster before moving to Ilford in2005.

The former headmaster of the school in Surrey revealed Ogunsola had been warned about his conduct with girl pupils prior to the alleged assaults in 2000.

Three Wise Monkeys in Denmark

Recently I wrote about the case of a Danish schoolboy who is being prosecuted for printing and distributing posters warning of the dangers of mass immigration and Islamisation.

If convicted he faces a possible two year jail term - in a country where a brutal gang rape will get you about three years.

Are his warnings that Denmark is becoming a far more violent and unpleasant place justified?

Well, shooting undercover police officers and gang warfare aside, street crime in Copenhagen is soaring:

Street robbery has increased significantly in Copenhagen so far this year, according to the latest police statistics.

Copenhagen Police report that there have been 498 street robberies in the first six months of the year, averaging two a day.

Similar robberies for the whole of 2008 totalled 660 and police say they have noticed a definite increase so far this year.

In the Bellahøj police district, which encompasses the area around Nørrebro train station, Deputy Superintendent Kaj Folke confirmed street crime is on the rise in the area, blaming it on the emergence of new thieving gangs.

Meanwhile in the Station City district, which includes the busy Nørreport Station area, police said the perpetrators are gangs of young people targeting victims as young as 10, stealing their mobile phones and ATM cards.

‘We have some groups of young people that play havoc in certain areas and are responsible for a large part of street crime,’ said a police spokesman to Berlingske Tidende newspaper.

According to some, this is largely because of the failure of something called 'youth policy' and 'projects', because apparently some kids need a wall to paint to, er, stop them forming gangs and attacking patrolling police officers (and we've all been there, haven't we, when we were young?):

After a weekend of unrest in the Nørrebro district of Copenhagen, Justice Minister Brian Mikkelsen has criticised Copenhagen Council for failing to address youth issues.

The criticism comes following Saturday night’s unrest, during which small groups of youths attacked police officers in Nørrebro.

”It’s the Council’s job to carry out crime prevention work, something that I feel has seriously failed in Copenhagen. When someone tries to take over a street – as they did on Saturday night – there’s only one way forward: a harsh policy – the zero tolerance method,” says Mikkelsen.

While Mikkelsen supports the police decision to act firmly, he says that Copenhagen Council efforts in Nørrebro do not seem to have helped.

“Copenhagen Council has a lot of projects. There are a lot of well-meaning people, but no results. What may be lacking is a firmer hand that gets hold of these young people and makes sure that they go to their schools and jobs,” Mikkelsen says.

It's obviously never occurred to Mikkelsen that perhaps some people just shouldn't have been brought to Denmark in large numbers in the first place.

The elephant in the room in these articles is that the schoolboy currently on trial is right; mass immigration leads to more crime and more violence, and itis happening in Denmark just as surely as it happened in Britain, Holland, France and Sweden.

Recent reports have emerged of a Lebanese family who drove 23 others out of a social housing project with their behaviour:

One single family terrorizes an entire housing area in Elsinore, Denmark. The management now urges the neighbors to resettle elsewhere, until the family in question can be thrown out.

Broken windows, punctured tires, and death threats have become everyday events in the Belvedere Road area in Elsinore, where for a long time one family has harassed the residents of the tenement’s twenty-three other apartments.

It culminated last night when police had to rush out with dogs to deal with a fight in the area. A young immigrant boy spat on a woman who, according to police sent a “an offense” back. Shortly thereafter, several people arrived and fights developed among twenty to thirty people.

Now the management has had enough of all the fuss.

“It is an absurd and ludicrous situation. If society cannot remove the family in question, we must move the others,” says Steffen Boel Joergensen, manager of the Lejerbo estate in North Zealand and Copenhagen.

He has now offered the twenty-three families a new place to live, until the harassing family is out of the apartment buildings.

“I spoke with one resident who asked me if they could get another place to live. Accordingly we offered them another flat immediately,” says Steffen Joergensen.

The management informed the family that it has been denounced, but to begin with they have six weeks to object, and if they do so, it ends up in a housing court action which can go on for years.

Steffen Boel Joergensen cannot wait that long.

“It is grotesque that twenty-three families’ lives will be disrupted just in order to obey those procedures. It should be possible in such extreme cases to throw people out with an hour’s notice,” says the manager.

He is ready to take the case to the special enforcement court in order to get the family out as soon as possible.

As a housing manager, he has no major problems with the extra costs of rehousing the other families. He has a more general concern.

“It is bad enough that these people have lost their confidence in protection of civilization. The protection has been abolished at Belvedere Road. Here the law of the jungle prevails,” he says.

Life has reportedly been hell for the 23 families since the family in question moved into Lejerbo housing association’s Unit 32 rental flats on Belvederevej last October.

The residents have allegedly faced harassment, violence and threats from the family on a daily basis.

The conflict peaked on Monday while the family accused of the rotten behaviour was entertaining relatives. Their children reportedly began throwing rocks and spitting at other families in the building’s playground area. When they were told to stop, their parents came down to the playground armed with knives and clubs.

A melee ensued and two residents were injured and taken to hospital, while one man was arrested.

Threats have since followed the incident, including the Lebanese family spray painting, ‘We’ve killed a man. Watch your step. Ha ha!’ on the sidewalk outside the building.

But instead of the aggressive family being forced to move out, Lejerbo housing association has instead volunteered to relocate the other families at no charge. The reason is that the one family cannot be evicted until the matter is settled through a court order.

Birgitte Wittendorff, head of Helsingør’s social services department, said the city did not have the power to negotiate solutions in household or neighbour disputes. But the city would step in and evict the family as soon as it had the legal means to do so.

The 23 families previously filed their case with the Tenant Complaints Board and the family was ‘evicted’ by the board – a decision that must be upheld in the court before it can be actualised.

In the meantime, many of the building’s residents were reportedly living in fear, especially those who testifying in the eviction case.

Yes, the vandalism didn't stop there, because also three cars were scratched, and all four tires were punctured, after they got their notice. But though they've received their notice, they still have three months..

"All the Danes and Jews must die", "racist", "whore".

Exactly what these individuals think of their erstwhile hosts, who have rescued them from a life of allegedly grinding poverty and drudgery.

No gratitude - just an attempt to conquer the next piece of territory, and the next.

Perhaps that Danish schoolboy should be running for Prime Minister instead of facing prison - someone with some sense must prevail, and soon.

Muslim Ran Down Ex-Girlfriend in Derby

The following story is sad for many reasons.

It concerns an evidently very naive young English girl who met a Muslim thug and was so enamoured she converted to Islam.

This didn't stop the relationship breaking down and him subjecting her to extreme violence, however.

THE former partner of an aspiring model has been accused of driving his car at her, causing her extensive injuries.

Stacey Stubley's family have been at her hospital bedside since she suffered head wounds and a broken leg in Bateman Street, Derby, on Friday.

Her former partner, Asad Shah, 21, has been charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm and has been remanded in custody after appearing at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court.

Stacey's sister, Emma Fowkes, said Shah and Stacey, 19, had been in a relationship for about a year, during which Stacey had converted to Islam and changed her name to Samira Shah – but the couple split up about six weeks ago.

Emma, of Essex Street, Chaddesden, was walking with Stacey along Bateman Street on Friday afternoon before the incident happened.

She said: "I thought Stacey was dead and I was standing there screaming for help.

"She was sprawled out on the pavement and you could see clearly that her leg was broken – then blood started trickling out of her head and I just lost it.

"When they lifted her into the ambulance she was screaming in pain and a police officer told me that was a good sign because it showed she was feeling something." A first-aider from nearby telecoms company Roscom rushed to treat Stacey at the scene while another bystander dialled 999.

Paramedics took Stacey, of Osmaston Road, to Royal Derby Hospital, where she was admitted to intensive care in a critical condition.

Emma, 27, said: "Stacey was in a lot of pain when they got her to hospital and we just didn't know whether she was going to pull through.

"But luckily the next day she had made good progress and she's since been moved on to a ward and is getting back to her normal self.

"The doctors have said she will probably be in hospital for the next two weeks."

Since the incident, Stacey's mother, Val, has been at her bedside and Emma has been unable to sleep.

She said: "For the past five days I think I've only had about four hours' sleep because I've been replaying what happened over and over in my head.

"The whole family would have been absolutely devastated if we had lost her."

Emma's long-term partner, Mark Dilley, said he found out about the collision after a frantic phone call.

He said: "Emma rang me just as I was about to finish work and I think the phone call lasted about three seconds – she said, 'I think she's dead'.

"Later in the evening, we were only getting little bits of information about her condition and we thought we'd lost her."

Mark said the reaction of bystanders at the scene had helped the family come to terms with what had happened.

He said: "I was really amazed by how people responded because they all rushed out to help Stacey.

"We want to thank everyone who was there that day because it could have been very different without them.

"They all united for one thing and that made me really proud to be from Derby."

Stacey, a former Murray Park Community School pupil, previously worked at a cafe in Derby and had recently taken up a job at a cleaning firm.

She had also been contacted by a London modelling agency after sending a portfolio of photos to them.

Emma said: "She's a very pretty girl and she's always been interested in modelling – she had just started to look into it as a career and hopefully she'll continue doing that when she is out of hospital."

Shah, of Cameron Road, Normanton, has been remanded in custody until November 20, when he will appear at Derby Crown Court.

Much is troubling here - but the fact that it was only when Stacey discovered how the real Samira Shahs of this world live that her parents became worried about her life choices is quite hard to accept.

Teenage Girl Attacked by Gang of Youths in Rochdale

The following report does not mention a description of the suspects.

Going on their behaviour, their treatment of the girl, the comments made by her mother about the area and the fact they need to be in a 20-strong gang to act this way, I'm going to take a guess and say they are adherents of the Religion of Peace.

A YOUNG woman was left battered and bruised after being set upon by a gang of about 20 youths,

Emily Bridge, aged 19, was approached by the gang who tried to start a conversation and distract her before making a grab for her bag.

At first she attempted to put up a fight and managed to snatch her bag back, but with the teenagers surrounding her she couldn’t escape.

The gang stole her bag and purse worth £140 before half a dozen of the youths began hitting her round the head and body.

The attack, which took place in Richard Street at about 7pm on 14 August, lasted for only a few minutes, but Emily, of Rooley Moor Road, was left with cuts and bruises before being spat on as the gang walked away.

She said: "They just came up and started talking – I was scared. They started calling me names so I just walked off and then they went for my handbag. At first I grabbed my bag back off them, but then all of them started jumping in. I tried fighting back. I had bruises on my knees and bumps all over my head, grazes on my elbows and a sore back after the attack. I can't remember it that well, there were loads of them and I just wanted to get away."

Her mother, Jeannette Bridge, added: "They do it all the time to girls up there – it's happened to me. I had a cut on my head where I'd been hit with a vodka bottle. It happens every other week by the train station, Drake Street and Fishwick Street – they're just targeting girls."

Police have taken Emily's clothes to try and find forensic evidence to identify the culprits, who are all thought to be aged between 14 and 17.

A GMP spokesman said: "Police are investigating a robbery in Rochdale. The 19-year-old victim was approached on Richard Street by a large group of men and one of the gang tried to snatch her handbag. The strap broke and the bag was stolen while other members of the gang struck the victim in the face and body before running off. The gang responsible are thought to be in their teens. Inquiries are ongoing."

I've taken a chance with this one, as Greater Manchester Police and the local newspapers in northern England generally are not afraid to describe suspects - however the spitting and the name calling, along with the sheer number involved, sounds like classic harassment of Western women by 'youths' to me.

Man Stabbed in "Used Car" Ambush

A man who arranged to buy a used car over the internet was jumped when he went to meet the seller, before being beaten and stabbed in the heart:

The 42-year-old was beaten and stabbed in North Street, Barking, east London, at 3.50pm on July 30, after being lured to the area by the advert for a Volkswagen Golf.

Witnesses saw two men, described as black and believed to be in their 20s, punch, kick and finally stab the victim as they tried to wrestle a bag with around £5,000 in it from him.

He was treated at the scene by air ambulance personnel before being transferred to the Royal London Hospital where he had life-saving surgery.

Detective Chief Inspector Ellie O'Connor, Barking CID, said: "This was a brutal attack on an innocent man who was responding to an online advertisement in good faith.

"We are appealing for anyone who witnessed this attack or who knows anything about it to come forward."

That report is from Yahoo news. The BBC did a version which was far more comprehensive in every way - but left out one of the key details. See if you can spot which one:

Open heart surgery was needed to save a man stabbed in east London after going to buy a car from someone he contacted through the website Gumtree.

The victim, 42, went to Barking to buy a VW Golf advertised on the site.

But he was ambushed, then beaten, kicked and stabbed in the heart, lungs and abdomen, before the £5,000 he was to pay with was stolen.

The car's true owner was unaware it had been offered for sale. Two men have been arrested by police and given bail.

The incident happened on 30 July, but details have just been released by police who are desperate to find more witnesses.

Describing what happened, Det Ch Insp Ellie O'Connor of Barking CID said: "It was broad daylight and a busy area so the gentleman thought he would be safe.

"He could not see the car, so he put in a call to the seller.

"Then he was ambushed from behind and knocked to the floor where he was beaten, kicked and stabbed four times."

Det Ch Insp O'Connor continued: "Thanks to the intervention of a member of the public they ran off.

"The passer-by then gave first aid until the air ambulance arrived."

The victim, from north London, suffered an injury to his heart's pericardial sac and a collapsed lung, among other injuries.

Although expected to recover, he is still too traumatised to discuss the incident, which police described as a "life-changing experience".

Det Ch Insp O'Connor added: "These men were not messing about and it is but for the skill of the emergency services that he survived.

"He will take two months to recover."

Strange, eh?

'Asian' Youths Throw Bricks at Family Celebration

A FAMILY says celebrations turned to fear as young and old barricaded themselves inside a building to escape a mob hurling bricks.

Cars were damaged and family members say they were subjected to racial abuse outside the Masonic Hall, Blackwall, Bull Close Lane, Halifax.

They say it took police well over an hour to arrive, by which time the 30-strong mob had dispersed.

The party was held to celebrate a 16th birthday on Saturday and was attended by 80 people aged from two to 85.

Peter Salmons, 62, said people were waiting for lifts home when a group of Asian youths congregated by Balmoral Place.

Because the family feared trouble, Mr Salmons said he decided to get everybody back inside the building.

"Then the bricks started flying. They were breaking red bricks on the wall by the Nashayman Housing Association and throwing them and shouting racist abuse."

He said nobody was hurt but cars were damaged, including his Ford Fiesta, which suffered £500 damage.

Mr Salmons said the police were rung repeatedly, first at 11.16pm, but it took one hour 23 minutes for two officers to arrive.

"It is disgusting. We were only 30 yards from the town centre where there were police Transit vans," said Mr Salmons, of Bradshaw, Halifax.

Another partygoer said it was a terrifying experience.

"People were scared and we had to lock the doors," he said.

A police spokesman said: "We were called to reports of youths throwing bricks at 00.30 on Sunday. Unfortunately, at the time the force was experiencing a network problem affecting several IT systems," he said.

"Contingency plans were used to maintain levels of service and normal service was resumed shortly afterwards. This might have caused a delay in this instance."

Shakeel Ahmed Repeatedly Raped a Young Girl

A 26-year-old man has gone on trial accused of raping and sexually abusing a young girl.

Shakeel Ahmed denies 12 allegations spanning five years.

A Bradford Crown Court jury heard today that he told the girl to put a scarf on her head and that they were going to get married before abusing her.

Ahmed – previously of Thornbury, Bradford, but now living in Aberdeenshire – denies two charges of indecent assault, eight of sexually abusing a child and two of rape, between 2003 and 2008.

Prosecutor Tom Storey told the jury the girl complained to a learning mentor at her school in May 2008 that she was being sexually abused.

The social services department and the police were called in and Ahmed was arrested in Scotland.

Mr Storey said Ahmed came to the UK from Pakistan in 2003 when he married a Bradford woman.

The relationship broke down after they had two children and he left the family home last year.

The girl told the court, via a video link, that Ahmed raped her after luring her upstairs by pretending his young son had been taken ill.

She said he was angry and she was afraid of him.

The girl said the second time it happened he threatened to hit her if she did not comply.

Ahmed told the police he had never touched the girl and she had made up all the allegations.

Well, that was yesterday - today he was jailed fr fifteen years:

A 26-year-old man has been jailed for 15 years for brutally raping and sexually abusing a vulnerable young girl.

Shakeel Ahmed, who came to the UK from Pakistan in 2003 when he married a Bradford woman, was led to the cells at Bradford Crown Court in handcuffs.

Judge Jonathan Durham Hall QC told him: “You are guilty of the persistent and sordid abuse and assault of a young girl you groomed until the point when you forcefully and brutally raped her.”

Ahmed, who lived in Thornbury, Bradford, fled to Scotland out of shame or fear after abusing the child when she was aged between nine and 12, the judge said.

The jury found Ahmed guilty of twice raping the girl and eight offences of sexually assaulting her. He was cleared of two allegations of indecent assault.

The judge said it was a horrifying case. Ahmed began preying on the girl after his wife gave birth to their first child.

She was abused repeatedly and persistently from the age of nine.

Ahmed told her she would be killed by family members if she told anyone.

She told police he played a game pretending they were married and putting a scarf on her head before sexually assaulting her.

In May last year, she finally plucked up the courage to tell a school friend and a learning mentor after Ahmed had left Bradford.

West Yorkshire Police arrested him in Ballater in Aberdeenshire where he worked as a waiter.

The judge branded Ahmed “arrogant, callous, uncaring and indifferent”.

He dumped his wife, although one of his children was dying, and then put up a ludicrous defence in court.

The judge said Ahmed would stop at nothing to avoid the consequences of his actions.

Illegal Immigrant from Jamaica Jailed over Rapes

Some more barely believable blundering from the Home Office:

A convicted sex attacker who assaulted two women after he should have been deported has been jailed.

Andrew Rowe, a Jamaican national, was jailed for 18 months in 2000 after he admitted indecently assaulting a 14-year-old girl in south London.

He should have been deported after his release but managed to remain in the UK and attacked two 18-year-old women in 2005 and January this year.

Rowe, 36, was given an indeterminate sentence at Southwark Crown Court.

His solicitor admitted to the court Rowe had failed to sign the sex offenders' register in an attempt to avoid deportation.

Judge John Price said in both the two attacks Rowe approached his victims and charmed them, persuading them to get into his car in south London.

He then drove them to empty flats before assaulting them.

Rowe, of no fixed address, was convicted of rape, assault by penetration and attempted rape at a hearing earlier this year. He had denied all the charges.

He pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, possession of drugs and failure to register as a sex offender.

Sentencing him, Judge Price said: "When the girls don't do what you want them to do, you get angry. You get violent with them.

"You won't be released until those assessing you think you are safe to be released."

He added that Rowe would not be assessed until at least six years had passed.

Rowe was ordered to serve three months concurrently for twice failing to register as a sex offender and disqualified from driving for 12 months.

Andrew Copeland, defending Rowe, said he had been arrested on 3 February after police spotted him driving erratically in south London.

Officers found him in possession of cocaine and it was after his arrest that it became known he was wanted for the two sex assaults.

Mr Copeland said Rowe had failed to sign the register because it meant his illegal status would be noticed.

He said: "It wasn't to hide his sexual activities but to avoid deportation from the country."

David Wood, head of detention and criminality for the UK Border Agency described the crime as "heinous" and said the authorities would seek to deport Rowe at the end of his sentence.

He added: "Last year we radically reformed the system for making the removal of foreign national prisoners more secure, any foreign criminal serving more than 12 months in prison is automatically considered for deportation.

"Last year we sent home a record 5,395 foreign national prisoners including over 50 killers and attempted killers, over 200 sex offenders and more than 1,500 drug offenders."

Yes - and you let them all in in the first place!

Werkstatt der Kulturen to Remove Evidence of Grand Mufti's Collaboration with the Nazis

A slippery mess of sheer multicultural madness from Germany:

The publicly funded Multicultural Center's (Werkstatt der Kulturen) decision to remove educational panels of the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Hajj Muhammad Amin al-Husseini, who was an ally of Adolf Hitler, from an exhibit, sparked outrage on Thursday among a district mayor, the curator of the exhibit, and the Berlin Jewish community.

The curator, Karl Rössler, told The Jerusalem Post that it is a "scandal" that the director of the Werkstatt, Philippa Ebéné, sought to censor the exhibit.

"One must, of course, name that al-Husseini, a SS functionary, participated in the Holocaust," said Rössler.

The exhibit covers the "The Third World during the Second World War" and three exhibit panels of 96 are devoted to the mufti's collaboration with the Nazis.

The grand mufti delivered a talk to the imams of the Bosnian SS division in 1944, and was a key Islamic supporter of Nazi Germany's destruction of European Jewry.

Ebéné denied that there was an "agreement " reached with the local German-Muslim community to shut down the exhibit. She termed media queries regarding an agreement as "Eurocentric." [Ed - She sounds as brainwashed and deranged as any Nazi - Hitler would probably approve.]

She told the Post that the exhibit was intended as a "homage to soldiers from African" countries who fought against the Nazis.

When asked about her opposition to the inclusion of the mufti panels, she asked, "was there ever a commemoration event in Israel to honor the [African] soldiers?"

Rössler was notified last Friday that Ebéné wanted to take out the panels dealing with the grand mufti, but he rejected her demand to remove them.

Meanwhile, the exhibit in its uncensored version has been relocated to the UferHallen gallery.

Maya Zehden, a spokeswoman for the 12,000-strong Berlin Jewish community, told the Post that Ebéné's rejection of the exhibit showed "intolerance," and a director who is "incapable of acting in a democratic" manner.

Zehden urged that the Berlin government consider replacing Ebéné as director. Zehden also sharply criticized Günter Piening, Berlin's commissioner for integration and migration, for defending Ebéné's decision to censor the exhibit.

Piening told the large daily Tagesspiegel that, "We need, in a community like Neukölln, a differentiated presentation of the involvement of the Arabic world in the Second World War."

Zehden termed his statement "an appeasement attempt" to ignore the fact that "there was no official resistance from the Arabic world against the persecution of Jews" during the Shoah.

She accused Piening of showing a false tolerance to German-Arabs in the neighborhood by not wanting to deal with disturbances from the local community.

Piening issued conflicting statements to the Post. While denying his statement to the Tagesspiegel, he said, however, that his comment was stripped out of a context of quotes.

He said the "reason" for the removal of the grand mufti panels dealt with a "misunderstanding of the background of the exhibit."

In an e-mail to the Post, Heinz Buschkowsky, the district mayor in Neukölln, where the exhibit was originally planned, wrote, it is a sign of "anticipatory obedience to avoid probable protests. I do not consider this position to be good."

He added that Piening's statement is a "repression of the facts dealing with anti-Semitism."

The district mayor wrote that the center by its own "claim to stand for freedom, tolerance, and culture should be careful not to set off suspicion that it is imposing censorship."

I wonder if she will be including the mass rapes the "African soldiers" indulged in on their way across Europe in her little homage - or would that be a bit too close to the mark?*

This little episode demonstrates beautifully the narrative of our time: white people and Western culture are uniquely evil, and must be denigrated at all costs and hopefully destroyed - whilst all other peoples and cultures should be celebrated, their achievements shouted and overblown if necessary.

Such deranged fools should be entitled to their little fantasies - but not at the expense of genuine history.

The contact between Islam and Nazism is not only an important historical record, but a useful reference point for the modern world, because I believe Hitler and his ramblings are still widely celebrated in some parts of the world - I'll leave it to the reader to imagine which.

Why?

We live in a time where any achievement claimed by Western people, those of European descent, whatever you prefer, must be very firmly balanced in the context of the tiniest wrong they have committed. We as a people are not supposed to bask in the glory of our past - we are supposed to hang our heads in shame. The wrong always outshines the right in the eyes of the modern world - no matter how small the former and how great the latter.

Such thinking has spread beyond the obvious to history of which the Left obviously approves, such as the defeat of Hitler.

We now can't celebrate our victory over the Nazis (whilst obviously taking the time to admit that mistakes were made and war is a terrible, tragic thing) without being told how bad we were, how many innocents we killed, how some of our leaders at that time were frankly war criminals.

Maybe this is good and fair - but if we believe it is so, then surely we must apply those standards equally?

So, my question remains - will the negative behaviour of troops from Africa be part of this display - or are we only being asked to celebrate, despite the outrageous actions of some? A comparison of these two Wikipedia articles suggest the answer to the last question is "yes."

We are all now familiar with the way that Russian troops behaved, en masse, when they reached German territory, and the shocking behaviour of some Allied soldiers is slowly coming to light. From what I understand, some North and black Africans had a similar group behaviour to the Soviets - with the good eggs being the exception, rather than the bad. After all, mass rape is a feature of warfare in Africa even today.

Will we be hearing from their victims? Or is their suffering less important than suppressing certain information?

After all, "German national in Lambeth" - we can only begin to erode racism if we apply the same moral standards to all people, regardless of skin colour - right?

Woman Asked to Remove Hijab Sues Judge

CAIR are enabling yet another lawsuit aimed at making Americans fearful of questioning the tenets of Islam or asserting their own rules and cultural norms.

An Iraqi woman residing in Dearborn, Michigan is suing a judge who asked her to remove her headscarf whilst she was in court to change her name.

It is customary to uncover one's head as a mark of respect in most Western courtrooms, I believe, but this does not matter:

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (AP) - A Muslim woman says she felt humiliated after a Michigan judge ordered her to remove her headscarf when she appeared in his courtroom.

Raneen Albaghdady (al-BAHG'-dah-dee) and the Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations filed suit Wednesday against Wayne County and Circuit Judge William Callahan, alleging he violated her First Amendment and other rights.

The 32-year-old Dearborn Heights woman says she was "terrified and scared" of Callahan at the June 16 hearing, and so removed her hijab when told to.

Callahan says Albaghdady didn't say her headpiece had religious significance. He says in a statement that had she said so, he wouldn't have told her to remove it.

The suit asks a federal judge to order Wayne County judges to allow the hijab in court.

As the woman continues to bleat about her supposedly terrible plight in a YouTube video, Judge Callahan has rubbished her claims, stating that the video conveniently misses the part where she replied "OK, it doesn't matter," to his request to remove her scarf, before complying:

In filing a federal lawsuit Wednesday, a Dearborn Heights woman said she hopes to help preserve the rights of other Muslim women.

The lawsuit alleges that a Wayne County judge forced her to remove her hijab, an Islamic head scarf, during a court appearance this summer to change her name.

Raneen Albaghdady, 32, a native of Iraq, said Judge Bill Callahan, a Wayne County Circuit judge in the family domestic division, told her to remove her head covering in keeping with court rules.

"I never thought this would happen here in America," Albaghdady, a designer, said at a news conference Wednesday in Southfield at the Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, a co-plaintiff in the lawsuit.

Wednesday's lawsuit comes after the Michigan Supreme Court adopted a court rule on Tuesday that gives judges "reasonable control over parties' and witnesses' appearance." That decision stems from a case involving a Hamtramck woman who went to court wearing a niqab, an Islamic veil that covers the entire face, except for the eyes.

This week, CAIR released a video clip of Albaghdady's court appearance on YouTube.

An assistant to Callahan said the video doesn't include the part where Albaghdady removed the head scarf and said, "It's OK; it doesn't matter."

This would be a bit like the vital seconds of footage missed of the Rodney King video, I presume - the ones that change the entire nature of the incident.
