Light Posting - in Germany

I haven't forgotten about the blog - things have been a bit hectic here as I get myself organised, however.

Thanks to everyone who has wished me well; if you have left news tips, I promise I will get to the important stuff eventually, and if you spot anything else that seems interesting, feel free to get in touch.

Normal service should resume at the end of the week.

TV presenter jailed for two years

Blake had previous convictions in the 1980s and 1990s for theft, handling stolen goods and driving while disqualified, the court heard.

Did the BBC know about all that before they hired him?

Viel Spass in Deutschland.

Here's one you simply can't pass up:

Very much like the British, we Canadians are in the clutches of a truly pathological obsession with political correctness. So I was quite surprised by and delighted with Davis' decision, which, because of the international media attention, has turned into a high-profile rejection of the Newspeak committee's central piety -- that only white men are capable of racism.

What is needed is for this kind of thing to become commonplace. An unrelenting repetition of even these small "incursions" against the taboos of political correctness will eventually break the back of the beast, just like tiny drops of water piercing through solid rock over time.

Good luck with your new job.

Muslim community leader arrested for 'making up BNP kidnap story'

This kind of thing is the direct result of the demonization of the BNP by the mainstream media. People start to think they can tell any sort of story or lie and it will be believed. And they are mostly right. Just not always, as in this case.

What immigration has brought: 'community leaders' like this.

Teenagers hurt in street shooting

None of the victims, who are all male and aged between 16 and 19, have life-threatening injuries, police said.

Do they have anything else in common? I mean besides being male and between 16 and 19.

The Met said officers from Operation Trident, which investigates gun crime in the black community, are leading the investigation into the incident.

It appears maybe they do...

But no one should worry too much about that, though.

Denham condemns right-wing groups

Right-wing groups who claim to oppose Islamic extremism are trying to provoke violence on Britain's streets, the communities minister has said.

It's "right-wing groups" that are the real problem in the UK. You'll just have to trust the BBC on that.
