Dutch Social Problems Caught on Camera

The fact that a Google Street View camera-car caught images which may help solve a mugging in Gronigen has made the international press.

The 14 year old boy was mugged last September. Two brothers dragged him off of his bike and stole £140 and his mobile phone.

The police were at a loss until the victim was flicking through images on Google Street view - and saw a picture of himself being followed by two men:

The Mail reports:

Officers got in touch with Google for the original picture because the people's faces were blurred. The company complied, and a robbery squad detective immediately recognised one of the brothers.

Prosecutors will now decide whether to charge the suspects, whose identities were not released.

Paul Eidanus, a police spokesman in the town of Groningen, said he believed the case was the first time Street View images had been used in a Dutch criminal investigation.

'For us, it is unique,' he said. 'This photo could provide an important contribution to solving a crime.'

I don't know what you see when you look at the photo.

But what I see is evidence of an epidemic which is sweeping the Netherlands and the rest of Europe.

Obviously, the report does not mention this aspect - but the muggers appear to be of immigrant descent, the victim Dutch.

In every major European city, this is a set pattern.

It is of no interest whatsoever to the mainstream press, and this is almost as worrying as the violence and criminality itself.

I am really surprised that Google would cooperate with the police.

Yes indeed, the bastards.

If you've ever been to the Netherlands you'd realize how moronic your statement is. You think Hitler achieved his goal here and there exist only blond haired, blue eyed people?

I'm very familiar with the Netherlands thank you, and that is how I know that every major city there has an epidemic of street crime, largely carried out by immgrants and their descendants (notice, I said 'largely', not 'in every single case').

I don't look at that picture and see two Dutchmen, despite being familiar with the range of hair colours possessed by ethnic Dutch.

If you look up the statistics, I think you'll find that a Moroccan youth is 55% more likley to come before a criminal judge, and a turkish youth 30% or so.

No need to apologise.
