Israel - Democracy, Super Models & Mossad Controlled Sharks

On Sunday Sheikh Raed Salah, leader of Israel's Islamic Movement, was released from prison after serving a five month sentence for assaulting and spitting at a police officer:
Speaking to supporters waiting outside the prison, Salah said, “In this welcoming I see confirmation of our eternal victory over occupied Jerusalem and the Aksa Mosque.”

The Islamic leader added, “I want to stress that this celebration today is only one celebration on the road to the big celebration, which is the expulsion of the Israeli occupation from Jerusalem and the Aksa Mosque.

“We are not afraid of prison in the cause of Jerusalem and al-Aksa. We will continue to cling to every piece of earth in Jerusalem and to every Jerusalem stone.”

The Islamic leader was found guilty of assaulting and spitting on a police officer who was providing security at a demonstration sponsored by Salah in 2007.
How interesting. It turns out that Israel, like most Western countries, permits opposing viewpoints to the degree that marches calling for its destruction, or at best subversion, are allowed to take place.

For all those who denounce Israel as an evil, racist, Nazi-like entity with no right to exist, can you imagine what would happen to protesters espousing equivalent pro-Israel views in Gaza? Or even supposedly friendly Arab countries such as Jordan?

I genuinely can't imagine the police providing security for them and tolerating being assaulted for their trouble, whatever else might happen.

In other news, apparently the lovely Bar Refaeli is in trouble for comments she made after a visit to Egypt:

Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli has managed to get in trouble with the Egyptians. Refaeli visited Egypt about two weeks ago with her boyfriend, Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio. Asked by Israeli reporters whether she would ever go back there, she replied that "Egypt is a very primitive place".

I imagine she is in trouble - most Muslims don't seem to appreciate any compulsion to tell the truth, it has to be said. Look at the reaction of the Islamic world to Fitna.

She's right though, that's what counts. My friends went on honeymoon there and recounted how in public places tourists are constantly being harassed for money, whilst many Western women have to put up with improper attention and sexual comments. My friend was made a serious offer of several camels for his new wife on two occasions - but still, all cultures are equal, right?

The Egyptian authorities responded with their characteristic restraint and good humour to Refaeli's remarks:

On Monday, Egyptian newspaper al-Dustur published a harsh editorial against Refaeli, claiming that her remarks were part of an Israeli attack on tourism to Egypt. The article was titled: "An Israeli plan to harm Egyptian tourism through a supermodel."

"It's part of Israel's constant efforts to attack tourism in Sinai in a bid to make the tourists move from the Egyptian beaches to the Israeli beaches. The Israeli press has taken advantage of the shark attacks on European tourists off the Sharm coast in order to convey in different languages the fear of the tourists visiting Egypt," the article claimed.

In the same context, another Egyptian paper presented a conspiracy theory that the Israeli secret service Mossad released the killer shark near Sharm el-Sheikh.

Is there anything those men from Mossad won't do in their dastardly desire to undermine the glories of the Arab world?

Meanwhile, the BBC's allegedly incarcerated friends in Hamas were busy again over the weekend, seriously wounding an IDF soldier and firing a rocket into the Negev; two of them were sent to meet Allah for their trouble.

I personally feel this small nation, surrounded by hostility and aggression on all sides, daily shows great restraint, as these stories illustrate.

American Muslim Convert Refuses to Remove Veil for Mugshot

An interesting snippet from Boulder, Colorado, which demonstrates how Muslims make up the rules as they go along, confident that political correctness will shield them from the consequences of their actions.

A convert to Islam arrested for drink driving refused to remove her veil so a mugshot could be taken:
A Muslim woman who refused to remove her headscarf for a Boulder County jail booking photo has been told she'll have to explain her refusal to a judge.

Maria Hardman, 19, of Boulder, who says she converted to Islam three years ago, pleaded guilty to an alcohol violation and was sentenced to two days in jail plus community service.

She told the Boulder Daily Camera on Friday that removing her headscarf for the photo would violate her beliefs because the Quran calls for Muslim women to wear the scarf except in the company of close family.

A police report said Hardman's blood-alcohol level was 0.19, more than twice the legal limit, after she crashed her motor-scooter in August.

Alcohol consumption is generally considered to be banned by Islam. Hardman said she drank punch provided at a party without knowing it contained alcohol. She said she left after she found out.

Hardman said she was told to remove the scarf for the photo Wednesday, when she reported to the jail to do paperwork in preparation for a two-day work crew as part of her sentence.

She said her attorney spent three hours trying to persuade officials to let her wear the scarf for the photo. She said jail officials eventually allowed her to leave without taking her photo, but it's not clear whether she began serving her sentence.

Larry Hank, who oversees the jail, said Hardman will have to explain her refusal to the judge in her case and that jail officials are preparing a motion to explain their reasoning.

The newspaper reported Hardman's attorney is also working on a motion. No hearing has been scheduled.
I thought the law was supposed to apply equally to everyone? In a case like this, would her attorney have been funded by the taxpayer?

If so, how much did the three hours her lawyer spent trying to argue she's above the rules cost America?

Isn't the point of being arrested and charged for committing a crime that one might lose some liberties as punishment, including the liberty to dress as one wishes?

The questions are endless, but I do wonder how often things like this happen and simply don't get reported - how much is squandered in this way over the course of an average year?

Israeli Student Attacked at Italian University

An Israeli architecture student was eating his lunch at the university he attends in Genoa, Italy, last week when a student from Gaza came up, punched him, and began shouting abuse.

The following events played out:
Assaf, a 26-year-old Israeli architecture student, was eating at the cafeteria when Ibrahim Haji, a student from Gaza, came and began taunting him. "He came towards me, punched me and said 'why are you looking at me?' I told him I wasn't looking at him, and asked him to let me eat in peace," Assaf said. "A minute later he was back, swinging a fork, and called me in front of everyone to come outside while cursing Israel and declaring his intention to kill.

I understood that I have to avoid this dangerous situation. I told my Italian friends, who were eating with me, that I'm going back to my room so as not to respond to this provocation. On my way out I turned to the cashier and told her, 'Call the police. You heard the man threatening to kill,' and she responded, 'It's not my job to separate Jews and Arabs.'

Quite. It wasn't a member of a favoured victim group being attacked, therefore it's simply not important. Welcome to the European Union...

It gets worse, however:

Assaf's attempt to distance himself from the fight failed. Ibrahim waited for him outside and went for the attack. As Assaf tried to defend himself, Italian passersby stepped in to intervene and held him back. Ibrahim took the opportunity to draw a large kitchen knife. The Italian students tried to stop him.

"I saw death in front of my eyes. I broke free and ran into the storage in the kitchen and locked myself in. After a few minutes more Muslim students arrived and began shouting 'Allahu Akbar' (God is great) and 'Itbach el Yahud' (slaughter the Jews). Later I understood that there are over 40 angry students there.

The Italians disappeared; they were scared to deal with them. I managed to get myself into the trash facility. I climbed a three-meter wall and jumped. I told myself it's better to break a leg than to get killed."

Assaf said that he went to the police but was ignored, until he turned to the community rabbi and additional Jewish families for assistance. "We filed an official complaint with the police, and they even informed the local investigation agency," said Chaim Amar, a 28-year-old medical student who serves as a security officer at the local synagogue. "Unfortunately, nothing came of it so far."

According to Amar, the police are familiar with Haji from previous violent incidents. It wasn't his first time threatening the life of an Israeli student, and he reportedly harasses female Israeli students regularly. "It's a matter of time before his next violent outburst," Amar said.

It doesn't even stop there; Assaf found himsef in the position of being blamed and resented by some fellow students and even university staff; the housekeeper at his dorm chastised him for contacting the police as it could ruin the Arab student's life.

What is he supposed to do upon being threatened with a knife, having his country cursed and being surrounded by a threatening crowd singing about how they wish to slaughter his people? Feel particularly vibrant, enriched and lucky to be able to celebrate such exciting diversity up close?

What are these violent Arab "students" even doing in Italy (apart from absorbing large sums of taxpayers' cash, no doubt)? It's quite clear these individuals are thugs, if not from this incident then from reports of their previous conduct and the fact all the Italian students (bar one) are too afraid to back Assaf.

All European countries need to stop importing violent, unassimilable immigrants now - for all our sakes.

Obviously if this incident had seen the Jewish and Arab elements reversed, it would be all over the BBC - but then it would never have played out like that, and we need to wake up to reality and start being honest with ourselves; some cultures, some immigrants just don't work.

But, clearly it couldn't be reported as it happened, because it might wake some more people up to the sheer, irrational, latent hostility which Israel and Israelis face everyday from those poor oppressed mites who build rockets with our "aid" whilst laughing at us, just for having the audacity to exist.

To paraphrase an old saying, you just can't be nice to some people - particularly those who see you as subhuman because you're an infidel and want you dead.

Europe needs to recognise who it's real friends - and enemies - are.

Cherie Blair Defends Islam (II)

Yesterday I wrote about Cherie Blair's robust defence of Islam, and particularly the role of Muslim women, when questioned by an interviewer about her sister Lauren's conversion.

Some of the comments she made came as she addressed a conference in Madrid to honour the "European Muslim Woman of Influence".

She was particularly adamant that wearing a burqa or any other covering is a woman's choice, and Westerners only disapprove or see it as a threat as a nice way of expressing their latent racism and Islamophobia (well, it can certainly be argued that was the subtext).

In fact, she said that the Burka is "no more of a threat than a nun's habit."

Which is rather strange - because Friday brought us our second European "Burka-clad Muslim woman in the dock" story of this week.

(Actually, I'm wrong; the first woman, Roshanara Choudhry, didn't actually appear in the dock - because she, er, didn't recognise the jurisdiction of the British court as it wasn't operating under Sharia law. Still, details, details).

This second one comes from Germany, and concerns Filiz Gelowicz, the wife of one of the four men convicted in March of plotting to attack US troops and interests, as well as infidels generally, on German soil:
The wife of a German convert to Islam who was convicted of plotting a thwarted attack on U.S. targets in Germany went on trial herself Friday on charges of supporting terrorist organizations.

Filiz Gelowicz, 28, is accused of supporting the Islamic Jihad Union and the German Taliban Mujahideen by helping provide euro3,000 ($4,225) to fund terrorist training camps in the Afghanistan-Pakistan border region between 2009 and 2010. She faces up to five years in prison.

One of two male co-defendants, identified only as 21-year-old Alican T., also went on trial in the Berlin state court on suspicion of supporting the same terrorist organizations. The other, Fatih K., 31, is in Turkish custody awaiting extradition to Germany.

When they were charged in August, prosecutors said in addition to raising the money that Alican T. posted 16 radical Islamic videos on the Internet trying to recruit new members for jihad, or holy war, while Filiz G. posted more than 1,000 videos, comments and texts online.

In six contributions, Filiz F. specifically asked Muslims in Germany to join Islamic Jihad Union, the German Taliban Mujahideen and al-Qaida.
How many nuns have appeared in the dock during that time? Or, at all? How many refuse to recognise the judge because Britain isn't a Catholic country?

Not that I'm calling Cherie Blair a delusional fool at best and a useful idiot at worst, you understand.

Abuse of Public Funds

I thought I would compile four articles I found recently which show just how public money is spent in Britain.

Although the vast majority of the money discussed is taxpayers' cash, some is from charitable organisations which use the money of unwitting donors to fund exclusively ethnic or faith-based organisations - which would be banned if set up by the indigenous majority.

The first article concerns £550,000 which will be spent "improving grades and employment opportunities" in Bradford's Islamic supplementary schools:
A £550,000 programme is aiming to improve grades and employment rates in some of Bradford's Islamic supplementary schools.

The Open Madrasah Network is a pilot project which will offer additional support in some of the district's madaris.

Four madaris in the area are initially taking part in the scheme, believed to be the first of its kind in the country

Of those taking part initially, one madrasah is in Keighley and three are in Bradford.

The madaris participating in the project will receive English and maths tutoring along with supplementary GCSE courses, careers advice and jobs fairs.

From January the network will be expanded to include a further 15 madaris.

Speaking ahead of the project's launch yesterday at the House of Lords, Bradford Council leader Kris Hopkins said: "We are travelling to London to show how Bradford district is at the cutting edge of education and social change in Britain.

"By providing additional support within madaris we are reaching into the heart of the community and offering more people access to life-changing services.

"Education, skills and employment are important priorities for Bradford Council and we are completely committed to doing everything we can to ensure all our residents are given the best possible opportunities."

Councillor Hopkins, chair of the Open Madrasah Network, joined Lord Kamlesh Patel OBE and representatives from Yorkshire Forward, Asian Trade Link (Yorkshire) Ltd and Education Bradford in London yesterday.

The key figures from Yorkshire spoke to a select group of MPs, peers and education and business representatives at the launch.

Arshad Javed, of ATL, said "We believe this is an exciting initiative that can bring about real transformational change in raising standards and bring about a more inclusive society."

The programme will offer children and adults a comprehensive package of support designed to boost educational grades, employment rates and improve life chances for some of Bradford district's most disadvantaged residents.

The project will work with children as young as primary school age all the way through to older students who are sitting GCSEs as well as adults.

Regional development agency Yorkshire Forward is funding the programme with £550,000 over three years.

The director of economic inclusion for Yorkshire Forward, Thea Stein, said: "Yorkshire Forward has developed this project because of our recognition of the importance of the Muslim faith sector in Bradford as holding critical keys in improving the economic outcomes for Bradford's communities.

"We are confident that the approach we have used to building this partnership will be instrumental in shaping better outcomes for attainment, jobs and skills. "

The Open Madrasah Network is being delivered by ATL with Education Bradford, Bradford Council, Yorkshire Forward, Jamiyat Tabligh Ul Islam, Madania Tahfeezul Quran, Abu Zahra Foundation, Islamic Cultural and Educational Association.

The head of cohesion and diversity for Education Bradford, Jani Rashed, said: "The relationship between madrasahs and mainstream schools is a very important factor when looking to raise levels of educational attainment.

"The Open Madrasah Network makes for a very good vehicle in developing that relationship.

"Education Bradford is very pleased to be working in partnership with Yorkshire Forward and ATL as a major stakeholder in piloting this project."

The second article reveals that £1 million is spent every year on one group of 120 asylum seekers who have been refused permission to stay in Britain but are still living in Croydon:
Some have not been deported years after applications to remain in Britain were rejected, and until they are the council is continuing to support them.

Because they have been refused asylum they cannot work, so the council gives them benefits and somewhere to live.

The asylum seekers have all come to Croydon, unaccompanied by an adult, when under the age of 18.

The council is reimbursed for looking after them until they are 18 but after that it gets no money at all, forcing taxpayers to foot the bill.

The number of people in this situation has tripled in just two years, with the cost of looking after them quadrupling from £250,000 in 2007 to an estimated £1 million for 2009.

The council argues it has a statutory obligation to make sure this group of vulnerable people do not end up on the street, and says the Home Office is not doing enough to deport them.

However, the UK Border Agency says the council is not legally obliged to do so, and that efforts are being made to ensure some are sent home, while others are appealing or cheating the system.

More cases are likely in the future as a result of the Government's controversial decision to make Croydon the only place in the UK people can claim asylum.

Richard Ottaway, MP for Croydon South, believe the latest revelation makes a mockery of the Government's claim the change in policy will have a minimal impact on Croydon.

"I am both surprised and concerned by these figures," he said.

"They illustrate the problem Croydon is facing by becoming the country's only walk-in asylum centre.

"It is inevitable the numbers of asylum seekers will increase, and it is equally likely the number of rejections will rise, meaning more people will fall into this category.

"The Government needs to explain why they have failed to deport these people, and why the taxpayer is counting the cost."

A spokesman for the council revealed the expense is likely to increase as other young asylum seekers are awaiting a decision.

The head of the UK Border Agency's local immigration team in Croydon, Frances Beasley, says that people with no right to remain in Britain are "expected to return voluntarily" but will be removed if they don't.

She added: "Of the cases that the council is assisting, each one is different.

"Each case can take a different amount of time to finalise, depending on whether there are outstanding appeals or travel documents to be processed for removal."

The third article reveals that a charity, the Football Foundation, has donated £235,000 to the "Muslim Women's Sport Foundation":
THE Muslim Women's Sports Foundation (MWSF) is celebrating following a £235k grant awarded by the Football Foundation, the UK's largest sports charity.

The grant will allow the the group to embark on the the Born to Succeed project - a three year plan aiming to increase the number of black, minority ethnic women in sport.

The MWSF hopes to provide facilities and support that take into consideration religious and cultural sensitivities of black, minority ethnic women - by developing a number of futsal and basketball clubs, introducing summer and year-round leagues, engaging in school outreach programmes, conducting research projects and in recruiting and training volunteers, coaches and referees.

It will also allow increasing access to player pathways, promoting healthy living in the community, providing alternative social activities in mainstream society, promoting cohesion and understanding between Muslim and non-Muslim communities, and developing role models for future generations of women.

Chairperson of the MWSF, Rimla Akhtar said: "The fact is that there are many Muslim women in this country who love to play sport and compete - this enthusiasm has been made clear in the work we have carried out so far.

"However, there has been a definite lack of funding and resources such as facilities - that cater for the needs of groups like MWSF.

"This grant, we believe, is the first of its kind and will enable the MWSF to build a foundation on which future generations of minority ethnic women can grow and succeed when it comes to sport. It is only the beginning of a much larger effort to develop healthy and confident women and girls in the UK.

"We thank the Football Foundation for leading the way in supporting the sporting development of this unique group of women and girls."

The launch of the Born to Succeed project will take place on tomorrow (31 October 2009) at the Ellen Wilkinson School for Girls, Queen's Drive, Acton , between 10 to 11.15 am.

Finally, The Somerset County Gazette reveals that the government will spend £314,000 of a levy collected on non-EU students and migrants on "helping Polish and Portuguese migrants have access to public services":
A POT of £314,094 will help Polish and Portuguese people living in Somerset get better access to key services.

The cash, passed on by the Government from a levy on non-European Union migrants and students, will help non-English speakers with services such as the police, education and mental health.

The scheme includes hiring Polish-speaking Police Community Support Officers; signposting basic services such as health, housing and social care; free interpreting services for schools; ensuring migrants know how to access mental health services.

Chief Superintendent Nikki Watson, of Avon and Somerset Police, said: “In Somerset we have some diverse communities and together with our partners we share a desire to serve all aspects of our society.

“This money will help us to make sure that as many people as possible are aware of the services available to them and that they feel confident using them."

Projects to be implemented by the partnership agencies over the coming months include: *Polish liaison PCSOs working with Polish communities to build trust and confidence in the police, reduce fear of crime and improve dialogue.

*Community Link Workers for Polish and Portuguese-speaking communities to introduce and signpost migrant workers to basic services such as health, housing and social care, establish a migrant workers’ forum and appoint a part-time English teacher.

*support workers for 14 to 19-year-old migrant backgrounds to meet together, ensure greater participation in mainstream activities and help them apply for school and college places.

*mental health qualified support workers to support migrant worker communities.

More Moderate Muslims

Whenever the spectre of Muslim terrorism and Jihad is raised, two things happen.

The person raising such questions is invariably dismissed as an "ignorant bigot", no matter how much he knows about Islam, and he is told that "moderate Muslims" will eventually win the day - if we just make the effort, concessions, etc, to reach out to them and let them know how tolerant we are.

This is flawed thinking, of course, as two recent revelations indicate.

Firstly, Osama Saeed, the founder and head of the Scottish Islamic Foundation, has been revealed as an adherent of Anwar al-Alwaki, a preacher who praised Major Nidal Hasan and the recent Fort Hood massacre in Texas.

Of course, Saeed is now back-pedalling and claiming he feels "cheated" by the cleric:

A radical Muslim cleric alleged to have inspired the Fort Hood gunman has been praised in the past as “a preacher of peace” by a prominent SNP candidate with close links to Alex Salmond.

The FBI is investigating communications between Major Nidal Hasan, who killed 13 people at the US Army base in Texas, and Imam Anwar al-Awlaki, a US-born Muslim cleric now based in Yemen. Mr Awlaki has a large following in Britain and counts prominent mainstream Muslims among his supporters.

In 2006 Osama Saeed, who has been selected as the SNP candidate for Glasgow Central for the next general election, wrote that Mr Awlaki “preached nothing but peace”.

Last night Mr Saeed, who was researcher to Mr Salmond before he became the Scottish First Minister, distanced himself from Mr Awlaki, saying that he now felt “cheated” by the cleric.

Saeed is reportedly very close to Scotland's First Minister Alex Salmond and the socialist Scottish National Party. His organisation has received British taxpayers' cash, including some before it was legally established and "entitled" to do so.

The Times also reveals that more "mainstream" British Muslims were adherents of al-Awlaki:

Despite his extremist reputation, the cleric has attracted widespread support from mainstream British Muslim groups and individuals.

Azad Ali, president of the Civil Service Islamic Society, wrote last November that Mr Awlaki was “one of my favourite speakers and scholars”.

Mr Ali, whose society’s patron is Sir Gus O’Donnell, the Cabinet Secretary, distanced himself from the cleric’s views last night. He said: “I reject them and disassociate myself from them completely.”

Of course he does, now - publicly, at least. That pension is far too lucrative to lose.

In the article's comments section, a Muslim accuses the critics of these men of hypocrisy - isn't someone entitled to change his mind?

Well, maybe - but would a former BNP member, for example, be given the same courtesy? I think not. In fact, if someone like Salmond was known to have associated with such people, that would probably be the end of his career, however innocent he was of any wrongdoing or impeccable his own credentials.

The second story to confirm the folly of 'out reach' concerns David Cameron's new, cuddly Tories. Desperate to win their share of the Muslim vote, the party sanctioned a website called the "Conservative Muslim Forum" in 2005.

Now they are A) trying to distance themselves from the project, and B) track down the man who designed it for them, because it features large chunks of text from Islam Online, written by hate preacher Yusuf al-Qaradawi, who is banned from both Britain and America and has called the slaughter of Israeli civilians "a necessary Jihad":
Officials were trying to contact the man they had employed to create the Conservative Muslim Forum's website to ask why it features chunks of text from IslamOnline, which was established by Yusuf al-Qaradawi, who was described as "dangerous and divisive" by David Cameron.

"That particular piece you mention, about charity, was, indeed, lifted from a website, but they can't tell for sure which one," says a spokesman for the Tories. "It is reasonable to assume that it is from the website [IslamOnline]. It should have been attributed."

The spokesman points out that the passage was "in line with mainstream Muslim thought".

Al-Qaradawi, who helped set up IslamOnline in 1997, has been banned from America since 1999 and from Britain since 2008 because of his extremist views.

In 2003, he expressed his support for suicide attacks against Israeli civilians, which he called a "necessary Jihad". He is held to be the unofficial leader of the Muslim Brotherhood by a number of informed authorities.

The Conservative Muslim Forum was established in 2005 to increase the Tories' understanding of Muslim issues and encourage Muslim involvement in the party.

It seems that the Conservative Party, like many of the rest of us, have genuinely failed to "understand Muslim issues" - like the fact that a significant portion of the Muslims we are "reaching out" to wish to subvert our society and our values in favour of their own.

Pandering to them only helps that, it in no way hinders it. That won't matter, however - governing our society has simply become a competition as to who can be most politically correct and who can sell us out the fastest.

Homosexual Heads in the Sand

Many of you will remember the very recent outpouring of vitriol against the Daily Mail's Jan Moir, who dared to write an article which pointed out that inviting strangers home is not necessarily part of a normal, healthy marriage.

I haven't actually read the article, nor the vast majority of the shrieking about how wicked and bigoted she is; but from what I did see, many denizons of the "gay community" stepped up to condemn her right to her own opinion as "spreading hatred" (a classic phrase used by those who wish to silence someone).

I wonder if Jan Moir's article can be held responsible for the following snippet from Court News UK:

WHITECHAPEL, LIMEHOUSE, STEPNEY GREEN, EAST LONDON. Three thugs who punched and kicked a couple in an unprovoked attack have been spared jail after blaming alcohol for their shameful behaviour. Muhamed Saleh and Mohammed Areif, both 22, and Golam Dhuha, 23, screamed 'white faggot' before laying into Matthew Hayes in Whitehcapel, east London.

No? Must be why we've heard nothing about it, then. Sounds a lot like a hate crime, to me - assuming of course the couple in question are homosexual (the article conveniently doesn't say, although from the context one would certainly assume so).

Oddly, no newspaper felt the need to report this crime. No representative of the "gay community" stepped forward to tell us how shameful it is that they were spared jail, and how such attacks are the sign of a profoundly hateful and intolerant society which must be fundamentally reformed.

It was just ignored, buried in the archives.

Now, the thugs in question may have blamed alcohol - but there is a pattern of young Muslim men attacking gay couples in most major European cities, particularly ones with large Muslim areas.

I wonder if some jolly, enlightened soul such as Stephen Fry would care to step forward and help us understand this pattern, what it means for gay people and what it means for our society - just as clearly and vehmently as he helped some of us understand what a despicable human being Jan Moir is.

Or is the safety of gay people on the streets only important for some when it is an excuse to bash traditional society and values?

That does seem to be the lesson of the future - when two protected groups clash, we must simply avert our eyes and pretend nothing has happened, lest the lies that prop up our wonderful tolerant and diverse society come crashing down around our ears.

Geert Wilders Ambushed by the BBC

Vlad Tepes has made a video using the audio from the BBC radio interview with Geert Wilders I mentioned yesterday, coupled with images of the Muslim protests against Mr Wilders' presence in London a few days later, and other Muslim riots in Europe.

Immigration in Italy: Dreams Vs. Reality

Reuters last week carried a puff piece about how immigration benefits Italy, whilst dismissing legitimate fears over a rise in violent crime and being highly critical of Italy's new immigration reforms, which make being or helping an illegal immigrant a criminal offence.

For example; the fact that violent crime has risen by 17% in Italy since 2004 is apparently only a problem because Silvio Berlusconi's Northern League "whipped up fear" about it. Obviously, such things just aren't worthy of note unless you're on the far-Right.

If you believe that Italian left, then the reforms are evil. What is really needed, explain the Socialists, is to give immigrants (legal or otherwise) the vote - only that will completely end "racism and xenophobia" (i.e. observing reality and formulating policy accordingly) in Italian politics - not to mention completely destroy Italy as we know it, but you can't have everything, can you?

The Catholic Church compares not rescuing African asylum seekers at sea or towing them to Libya to "ignoring the Holocaust" (and let's be honest, they should know - when in Rome and all that).

Now we've established that Italians thinking the goodthink is more important than the existence of Italy itself, we are in a suitable place to ooh and aah because a team comprised of Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi immigrant children recently won an under-15 cricket competition:

Mass immigration, unheard of 20 years ago, is fast changing society. Last month an Italian team of children of migrants from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh won an under-15 European cricket title, making headlines and winning praise from politicians like Fini.

The team, some of whom face deportation unless they receive citizenship, dedicated the victory to Northern League leader Bossi.

"This is the first European title in the history of Italian cricket," said Italian Cricket Federation President Simone Gambino. "It shows immigrants bring prestige to our country, not just problems."
No - it shows that if a country imports large numbers of people who play cricket, some of them will, er, play cricket.

Of course, whether or not this change is desirable is the big question - but it is one that cannot be asked, let alone answered. Obviously, if one does not feel that such changes are desirable, then one is a racist, a Nazi, a knuckle-dragger.

The Left pretend there are two options - but you know you can really only pick one, lest the shrill screams begin.

Speaking of the downside of immigration to Italy, here is but one good example; a feminist politician punched in the face whilst protesting against the burqa as a form of oppression to women:

MILAN: Italian female politician protesting burquas punched by muslim in scuffle. (hat tip Adam)

Santanche is currently running a campaign in Italy to expose the burqua and veil as oppressive to women. She took the fight to the front line today, entering a muslim 'prayer meeting' and asking to speak to some women to tell them they were being oppressed by a male-dominated regime masquerading as a religion, and was subsequently attacked.

Google translation here.

Daniela Santanchè, leader of the Movement for Italy, was attacked and hit with a fist while expressing, in front of the Steam Factory in Milan, against the entry of women in burqas who came to celebrate the end of Ramadan. The riot police intervened and planning is identifying the assailant.

The Santanchè - has long engaged in a battle for integration and against Islamic

Santanche03G

fundamentalism - had arrived this morning with the intent to prohibit the entry of women in burqas. In recent days Santanchè had appealed against the burqa as an act of solidarity and witness for the tragic death of the young Sanaa killed by her father for his affair with an Italian boy. Before the riots, inter alia, had told reporters: "The Italian law forbids that turns his face covered and must be respected.

I do not blame these poor women but with whom he sends and subdues. The burqa is a humiliation for women. Not by chance even in France - has continued Santanchè - are passing a law to prevent their use. The burqa is like female circumcision because they are instruments to cancel its deepest identity. "

The event continued in an atmosphere of great tension Some protesters also ripped a street sign trying to hit the group of protesters who were with Santanchè. Challenged the decision of the organizers who initially tried to bring women with burqa from a rear entrance. The Santanchè entered into a climate of tension escorted by police and demanded to speak with some women. Members of the Muslim community have condemned the attacks and insults towards the Santanchè but they also claimed the right of their women to wear the burqa.

I wonder how many international news agencies covered this? Surely there must have been at least one...

A Comment from Yvonne Ridley

Muslim convert Yvonne Ridley has left a rather weak comment on one of my posts about her (with thanks to reader Ben for actually noticing).

Whilst she accuses me of defaming her, she does not tell me which statements (all gleaned from web research, including her own Wikipedia page) are allegedly false, or attempt to challenge them with anything other than threats, and thus they stand.

The comment is very boring, but fits a pattern - telling the truth about Islam constitutes spreading hatred, and not bowing to the idle threats of the apologists and shills of the spread of Islam in the West constitutes a "smear campaign".

The original intention of the post was to highlight the fact that Ridley pretends to be an ordinary, educated Englishwoman who discovered the truth and beauty of Islam after being captured and then released by the Taliban in Afghanistan whilst working as a journalist.

She went on a university speaking tour to spread that message - but it is false. Ridley was dabbling in anti-West, far-Left and radical Islamic politics long before she went to Afghanistan - she married and had a daughter with a PLO colonel she met in Cyprus in 1992.

Whatever she pretends, this is hardly the life of the ordinary, provincial Englishwoman.

Ridley sees Islam for what it is - a very useful tool for undermining the West, particularly Israel. When one looks at her views, conversion seems a natural progression.

I am not going to stop pointing that out, and she can make as many threats as she likes.

Dutch Islamic Schools Get Away with Fraud

From Islam in Europe:
The public prosecution will not deal with a complaint by State Secretary Sharon Dijksma (Education) against the Stichting Islamitische Scholen Helmond (Helmond Foundation of Muslim Schools). The investigation of the facts did show irregularities, but they do not warrant a criminal investigation, a spokesperson for the fraud department in justice said Wednesday.

Justice thinks that the State Secretary has sufficient means to act against the school administration, which is estimated to have wrongly spent more than 900,000 euro of subsidies. Half of the sum was used, according to the State Secretary, for self-payment and compensation for phantom-workers. Justice recognized that the money was not spent as it was intended to be, but a spokesperson says there is no issue of 'grave self-enrichment'.

In response the State Secretary said Wednesday she will respect the decision.

Two years ago Dijksma lodged a complaint of fraud against the association. She managed to fire two of the school administration via a court case. It was the first time that the ministry took this far-reaching step against a school.

A lawsuit to get back the money from the people who got it is still ongoing. The then school administration is challenging the claim and says that at most 200,000 euro was badly spent.

Last year Dijksma reported to parliament that 90% of Muslim schools are playing around with subsidy money. At the time she estimated that 5 million euro were wrongly spent.

Two Horrific Crimes in South Africa

The first case is the recent rape, torture and murder of a young American missionary, and the second is the appalling abuse and violence meted out to an elderly white South Africa lady who miraculously survived, her main concern being her pet cat.

Such crimes are all too common - but needless to say are ignored by the British media.

1) From The Citizen:

JOHANNESBURG - Police have arrested two suspects for the gang-rape, robbery and torture of a 26-year-old American missionary who was in South Africa on a church sponsored mission to build homes for the poor.

The woman, who is presently in hospital receiving medical treatment for multiple injuries was attacked late on Tuesday evening by three men who smashed through the door of the Ballito home where she was staying.

After overpowering her, the three first sexually assaulted, then beat and gang-raped her before fleeing in a Honda motor car belonging to her church group.

Police from the office of the KwaZulu-Natal provincial commissioner, the Local Criminal Record Centre in Durban and the Umhlali Dog Unit raced to the scene and found the woman’s car abandoned.

Fingerprint experts processed the car as well as the house where the attack took place and identified the fingerprints of one of the attackers.

At the home they found the fingerprints of a man who has a previous conviction for robbery and was, until yesterday afternoon, out on bail for housebreaking. Police from the Dog Unit then proceeded to the known hideouts used by the man and arrested him and another man known to often be his accomplice.

The pair were allegedly in possession of property taken from the woman’s home.

Police are confident the third suspect would be arrested soon.

2) From IOL:
While she was bludgeoned, bitten and repeatedly hurled to the floor by a young assailant who screamed: "Who is this God you call for?" an 82-year-old Berea resident battled to fathom the horror that had invaded her lifelong home.

Ella Horne, who has lived in the wood and iron Victorian house at the corner of Sydenham and Essenwood roads since her birth, is known and loved by many residents in the area. Her home, which is almost a century old, is admired daily by passersby as a reminder of a bygone age. It is thought to be the only remaining dwelling of its kind in the city.

Horne is a former concert pianist who worked for the Daily News for 20 years until her retirement at the age of 70. Despite her advanced age she still takes an active interest in the community, does her own housework and reads newspapers avidly.

The members of St Thomas Anglican Church, of which Horne has been a member since childhood, have been particularly hard hit by news of her terrible ordeal.

Describing Horne as "very devout, and one of the most cheerful people around", congregant Charmaine Silcox said she and others had tried over the years to persuade their friend to relocate to a retirement village, without success. "The only positive aspect of this brutal event is that now she will relocate to a safer and more comfortable environment."

Horne has agreed to settle in a retirement home once she has recovered from her ordeal.

The nightmare began at 12.30pm on August 14. From her hospital bed Horne described how she was woken by the sound of breaking glass. "I went to the back of the house to investigate, and then moved to the front bedroom. As I opened the door the picture window exploded, and then he was on me, with his fingers around my throat. I didn't stand a chance."

Her assailant launched a savage and protracted attack, punching her repeatedly in the face and doing his best to strangle her. He also smashed a heavy china fruit bowl against her skull. "I prayed so hard," said Horne. "'Dear God, protect me.' Then my strength started to go. 'I'm dying,' I said. I closed my eyes and tried not to let my breathing show. He left me then, and started to trash my home. Finally it was quiet. I lay there, covered in blood, with my darling cat beside me."

The assailant ransacked the house and stole a television set, electric irons, radios and an unspecified number of other valuables. Horne was to lie unattended for more than 16 hours before a passing motorist noticed the broken window and alerted the police.

"After a very long time I heard voices, and then two policemen were by my side. They were wonderful. When the ambulance arrived, the rescue medics also treated me very gently. I cannot praise them all enough," said Horne.

Medical personnel have expressed amazement at Horne's resilience, particularly since she had a triple heart bypass some years ago. While her blood pressure was initially dangerously high, she is responding well to treatment and her brother, Stan, 86, and niece Andrea, who rushed from Gauteng to be at her side, hope that she will be discharged soon.

Margaret Horne (no relation), who has been Ella's neighbour and friend for more than 30 years, condemned the savagery of the attack, but said she was not surprised Ella had survived.

"She is a formidably strong woman, and her mind is as sound as a bell," she said.

Horne is almost more concerned with the welfare of her beloved ginger tom cat, Cheeky Boy than she is about her own plight. "He must have been so frightened. I do hope that I can find him a new home where someone else will love him as much as I have done," she said.

Of her attacker, she had this to say: "I do not hate him and I am not filled with anger. He did not know what he was doing. No one taught him right from wrong."

Her magnanimity is not shared by her neighbours and friends. Neighbour Allan Reinecke has vowed the community will clamp down on crime. "We will not take acts like this lying down. If criminals keep targeting Berea, they should be warned: we will take firm action."

The Face of "European Islamophobia"

Recently certain parties within the Turkish government announced that they were afraid of a wave of "Islamophobia" sweeping Europe.

This wave of anger and violence might well have caused up to five violent incidents in which Turks living in Europe had died, according to them.

One of these incidents was the murder of Arzu Çakmakçi-Erbas, 32, outside the daycare centre she owned and ran in Amsterdam.

Well, now the Dutch police have announced that they are actively seeking a suspect in connection with this brutal and senseless murder - this is the face of "European Islamophobia":

Yes, the police have announced that they want Nevzat Koyak, 41, to help them with their inquiries, as we say here in Britain.

Koyak isn't an evil European racist though - he is a violent Turkish illegal immigrant and career criminal:
The police believe they know who the murderer who stabbed to death the owner of the Moeders Schoot daycare center in Amsterdam West two weeks ago. The man is Nevzat Koyak. He was born in Turkey and is in the Netherlands illegally. According to the police he's addicted to alcohol and drugs and has no permanent place of residence. The suspect is dangerous and unpredictable.

Koyak is on the run. Monday night his photo appeared in wanted notices on various national and local TV broadcaster. The police hope that the broadcasts will bring in tips about the suspect's hiding place. Police are offering 5,000 euro for the 'golden' tip.

A police chief told regional broadcaster TV-Noord Holland that Koyak was involved in the past in serious violence crimes. The police said nothing in its wanted notice about the motive of the suspect. A spokesperson did not want to add information. The murder, in any case, has nothing to do with the daycare or the parents of the children there. "This could have happened anywhere," says the spokesperson. According to the spokesperson there was no relation between the attacker and the victim.

Arzu Çakmakçi-Erbas (32) was stabbed to death two weeks ago in a pcar park in front of the childcare centre, just after she closed it. The victim died later in hospital.

The police currently have more than 20 researchers on the case.
So, it looks like everyone can experience the benefit of unchecked immigration and the failure to deport violent criminals - not just natives, but decent immigrants too.

Unfortunately the Turkish government have declined to comment on these recent developments - probably hoping that people will quietly forget about this before Turkey's membership talks with the European Union swing round.

I'm hoping just the opposite.

More Mischief from the UK Border Agency

The following story indirectly sums up the reason that Britain is in the state it currently is; petty officials far more concerned with ticking boxes (and not offending a protected group) than doing their job properly and observing objective reality.

The Canadian wife of a former British soldier (and the mother of his child) has been denied residence in the United Kingdom, because his salary as a labourer (between £12,000 - £36,000 per annum) is not enough to support his young family.

Never mind the tax he's paying to support free loaders and criminals. Never mind the fact that his family (probably hers too, at one point) have paid in and helped make this country what it is, whilst countless people with no connections to this country or any hope of assimilating are allowed in and given everything they could ever need or want.

No - the rules are what counts.

The rules state that if you are a violent rapist who clung under a lorry to get here, welcome aboard. If you plan to take this country for everything it has, come on in and make yourself at home whilst we allow you to live in luxury and appeal for ten years.

If you're a subject of Her Majesty The Queen, brought up in a compatible culture, already speak English and have qualifications and a bright future - then go to Hell.

Britain doesn't need people like you spoiling its hard earned reputation as a multicultural utopia!

Here's the full story, from The Star Phoenix:

It's a modern-day love story ripped from the pages of a romance novel.

A young British private completing military training in Canada meets a woman at a bar one night during the Calgary Stampede. She was 21. He was 25.

The two fall in love, have a child and marry three years later.

The soldier finishes a tour of Afghanistan, and returns to the U.K., in hopes of bringing his new bride and baby daughter home, across the pond.

But last week, British immigration officials denied the former soldier's request, on the grounds that his current salary as a labourer was not enough to support a young family.

Chantel Barden said Tuesday she's frustrated about yet another obstacle that will keep her from her husband, Darren Jarrad.

"We've been together for three years now, yet we still aren't together," the 24-year-old said from Cluny, Alta., a small town about 100 kilometres east of Calgary. "We don't know what we're going to do."

The longest amount of time they have ever spent together was six months last summer when Barden and their daughter, Shyanne, were given temporary visas to the U.K.

Barden said their transatlantic relationship has been taxing on their daughter, who is now two.

"Darren was in Afghanistan when she was born. When she was younger, she didn't know who (Jarrad) was. She was scared of him," said Barden. "Now she only knows him by pictures and on the phone. She wonders where he is, why he isn't with us."

The newlyweds thought their separation would be brief — only months, until the UK Border Agency denied Barden's visa application last week. The last time the two saw each other was at their wedding last April.

"I thought it was going to be quite quick and sort of a done deal," said Darren Jarrad, 28, of Felmingham, U.K. "We're married, we're a couple, we have a child. I thought it was going to be pretty simple. I thought she would've been here by now."

Jarrad said immigration officials believe he does not make enough money as a floor technician and restorer. His annual salary ranges from $21,891 (12,000 pounds) to $65,679 (36,000 pounds), depending on overtime and extra shifts.

"I work full time, for decent pay and they keep saying that I can't support her, that my salary doesn't meet their requirements but they never say how much I need to be earning," he said. "It's unfair. Immigration does not look at these cases enough. They sort of blink and check off a bunch of boxes."

He said Barden, a model and a sales clerk in Calgary, was planning on working once she moves to the U.K.

"She definitely wants to work. She's not the kind of person who would want to sit at home," said Jarrad.

His father also offered to financially support the couple during the first few months if they need it, he said.

"It's been a letdown. After everything that they've asked me to do, go to Afghanistan and Iraq, and they still won't let me bring my wife here," said Jarrad. "I'm not asking them for a free ride."

British politician Norman Lamb, a Liberal Democrat MP, said he sent letters on Jarrad's behalf to immigration officials this week.

"I just think this is an extraordinary situation. He was prepared to serve his country in Afghanistan and in other tough situations," said Lamb. "It's completely unacceptable."

He said the U.K. is taking too hard a stand against immigration.

"Immigration is a sensitive subject and the government must appear strict," said Lamb. "They know the public in many cases is very sensitive about immigration, particularly at a time when the economy is a mess and so forth, but I think it's staining the country's reputation."

Jarrad has hired an immigration lawyer.

If he is forced to move, it will send a message that the U.K. is uncaring," said Lamb. "It would be sad and unjust."

A spokesman with Citizenship and Immigration Canada said Tuesday the department cannot assess whether it would be easier for Jarrad to immigrate to Canada, but noted that no special exceptions would be made if he was a British or Canadian soldier.

"It's by a case-by-case basis," said Nicolas Fortier in Ottawa. "Everyone has to meet all of the same requirements."

On the agency's website, it says that Canadian residents wishing to sponsor spouses from overseas need to go through medical, criminal and background screening. Residents also must prove to be financially capable of supporting their spouses before their permanent residency is approved.

Last year, Immigration Canada granted sponsorships to 44,196 spouses and 3,255 children.

A spokesman with the UK Border Agency also said that country's visa applicants were assessed on a merit-point system.

"The system is firm and fair, and it applies to everyone," said Sam Eversden in an e-mail from the agency's London headquarters.

He said although the agency cannot comment directly about Jarrad's case, due to privacy laws, in general, immigration officials assess to see if there is a risk visa applicants will rely on public assistance once moving to the U.K.

"For example, an applicant for a spouse would need to demonstrate that they will be able to maintain themselves without recourse to public funds. Where an application does not meet the requirements of these rules, it will be refused," he said.

The system is certainly not 'fair', because it is only firm with the wrong people.

James Broadnax Gets Death Penalty - Laughs at Victim's Mother

Continuing on the theme of serious black crime almost completely ignored by the American media, on Friday James Broadnax received the death penalty for the murder of Stephen Swan, 26 and Matthew Butler, 28.

Broadnax gunned the two men down in cold blood after he saw them leaving their Christian music studio in Dallas and went up to ask for a cigarette.

He apparently chatted amiably with the two men before killing them for absolutely no reason at all.

In court, when Butler's mother bravely faced him to tell him how he had robbed her of her son, he simply laughed at her.

Despite this, his defence unsuccessfully tried to spare him from death:

During closing arguments at the sentencing, the defense attorney Keri Mallon said, “”That child does not deserve to die. Give that child a second chance at life. Give that child mercy.”

Here is an interview with 'that child'. Needless to say, he has shown no remorse:

Some further details of the court case and the anguish of the families:

Minutes after he learned a jury had sentenced him to death, killer James Broadnax laughed at the mother of one of his murder victims as she told him how he had devastated her life.

"You stole our son," Teresa Butler said Friday from the witness stand during the period after the trial when relatives can confront the defendant. "I couldn't say it better than you said it yourself – it would have been better if you'd never been born."

With his back to the room, most people in the court could not see as Broadnax laughed. But assistant district attorney David Alex later said he saw it happen.

As she left the stand, Butler admonished Broadnax to stop laughing.

Alex said Broadnax's reaction was telling. "Even at this point, after seeing how many people he's affected, he's still over there laughing," he said.

He appeared to have no reaction earlier when he was sentenced to die by injection for the murder of Stephen Swan. He also has confessed to killing Matthew Butler as the two left a Garland recording studio in June 2008.

When the sentence was announced, friends and relatives of the victims smiled grimly, embraced and wiped away tears.

Broadnax's mother, Audry Kelly, dabbed at her face, and held tightly to a member of the defense team.

The jury deliberated for about eight hours over two days.

"We just took our time going through all the evidence," said Jay Williams, one of nine men and three women on the panel. "We came to the decision without any reservations, with a very clear conscience."

Jury foreman Robert Patterson said the jury "went through a very thoughtful process" and no one person was at odds with the others.

Patterson, the lone black jury member, was placed on the panel at the insistence of Judge Michael Snipes, who was concerned that the group sitting in judgment on the biracial defendant be racially diverse.

"I was not aware of that fact," Patterson said, adding that "race was not an issue with respect to the decision we made."

The Broadnax case was the third capital murder jury Patterson has served on, but the first one in which prosecutors have sought the death penalty.

Patterson said television interviews Broadnax gave after the crime, in which he boasted about killing the two men and expressed no remorse or sympathy for their families, influenced jurors more than the defendant's impassive demeanor in the courtroom.

Defense attorney Brad Lollar insisted his client does regret his actions. "James has repeatedly expressed to me that he was remorseful for the pain he's caused," he said.

He also said his client "wanted me to tell anybody out there they should stay away from PCP." The defense maintained during the trial that one reason Broadnax committed the cold-blooded killings was because he was under the influence of drugs.

Broadnax apparently wrote letters to both victims' families last year expressing his regret. Jamie Butler Cole, widow of Matthew Butler, referred to the letter she received when she told Broadnax during her statement that she forgave him.

She did so, she stressed, for her sake, not his. "It gives me freedom to live my life," the mother of two said.

But Deborah Swan, sister of Stephen Swan, said she didn't know if her family had received such a note.

She has not been able to forgive Broadnax, she said. "I would like to say that I have, but I can't."

Can any American readers tell me if this case has been widely covered in the national media?

Woman "Enjoyed" Torturing and Murdering Man

A black woman lured a wheelchair-bound white man she considered "a snitch" (despite barely knowing him) to her flat, before horribly torturing him for three days and then killing him.

She stated when arrested that she enjoyed killing him, and he deserved what happened to him:

A Phoenix woman accused of torturing and killing a man in a wheelchair says she did it because he was a snitch, and she enjoyed it.

In a jailhouse interview with television station KTVK, 33-year-old Angela Simpson said in a calm voice that she lured 46-year-old Terry Neely to her apartment with a promise of sex and drugs.

Once there, Simpson says she beat Neely with a tire iron, pulled out his teeth and strangled him with a television cable during three days of torture.

Simpson says she dismembered Neely's body and set it on fire.

Neely's remains were found burning in a trash container Covenant Grace Christian Fellowship Church, near 7th Avenue and Peoria Road, on Aug. 5. Autopsy results show a 3-inch nail had been driven into his head.

Simpson says she has no remorse for her actions and actually enjoyed killing Neely.

Other reports state that she made him watch the sustained torture in a mirror, before driving a nail into his skull, stabbing him up to 50 times, slitting his throat and dismembering him.

I have googled this case - and I can't find one mention of it in the national American media.

Justice Turkish Style

The Daily Telegraph reported yesterday that a British student had been arrested and deported from Turkey for stripping naked and dancing around a statue of Ataturk, the founder of the modern Turkish state, whilst screaming abuse and insults.

Now, I think this individual is a complete idiot and got pretty much what he deserved. If you choose to travel abroad, you should certainly respect local laws and not expect your passport or your skin colour to protect you from trouble.

According to the article, many Turks think the boy was treated too leniently:
However, for some Turks, the punishment was not severe enough and a Facebook group titled ‘String up Strong’ has been set up, calling for him to be hanged.
A British man who was on holiday there at the time had the following to say:

British tourist John Connolley, who is on holiday in Marmaris, praised the actions of the Turkish authorities.

“To be honest I admire the Turks for their direct action. The boy had no reason to strip naked in public and insult a much loved national leader. He obviously was looking for a reaction and he got one – perhaps not what he expected though.

“Tourists should appreciate that if you come to Turkey you should behave respectfully – I think it’s a good thing – otherwise you get Brits behaving horribly like they have been on the Greek islands recently. In fact I think we should adopt the same attitude back home and deport badly behaved foreigners.”

Indeed. I believe the Turkish authorities have behaved properly here, as does Mr Connolley.

To play devil's advocate though, where was this man's interpreter and lawyer, not to mention his several free appeals against the deportation, totalling several years spent lived on benefits?

The Turks won't countenance such nonsense - but we do, every day, regarding much more serious crimes against our own people and culture.

To take one of these crimes which fits in with this story, let me take you back to 2004.

A failed asylum seeker from Iraq (who had been turned down seven times but was still free to walk the streets of Britain), was leaning against a cenotaph in Blackpool, eating chips.

This was on the day which marked the 90th anniversary of the beginning of the First World War, so there were many fresh poppy wreaths on the war memorial.

This man of 32, Harkan Amin then decided to masturbate all over the memorial, the wipe his hands with the wreaths, before going back to eating his chips.

He was sentenced to pay a £2,000 fine, which he could not; so he was released after spending two weeks on remand.

No one explained why he was still walking around free after being turned down seven times; no one explained why he was even still in the country.

Despite telling the truth about his status, the BBC described him as "from Oldham".

For all we know, he is still living here now.

Now, would the 'Brits behave so badly abroad' crowd support throwing this man out without a trial, without legal aid, without assessing what he faced upon his return?

I would hope so, but I'm not convinced.

It seems that whilst applauding Turkey's protection of its interests and culture, our elites see us as nothing more than a dumping ground; here, the scum have all the rights, and the decent have to leave if they don't like it.

45 Polygamous Marriages in Antwerp

Translated by Islam in Europe:
There are 45 men with two or more spouses in the Antwerp (Belgium) population and foreigner register. This according to the response of alderman Monica de Coninck (sp.a) to a question by council member Wim Van Osselaer (Vlaams Belang). The question was asked due to the registration of polygamous marriages in the Dutch cities Amsterdam and Rotterdam, a year ago. Van Osselaer wanted to know how matters stood in his own hometown.

Spokesperson Eva De Wolf says that in total Antwerp has 45 men who said they had married two or more women in their land of origin. These are mainly men from Morocco, Pakistan, Mauritania and other countries where polygamy is allowed.

She also adds that absolutely polygamous marriages aren't performed in Antwerp. Whoever wants to marry in Belgium must show that he is free of any bonds of marriage. "We register only polygamous marriages for non-Belgians in the population and foreigner register if that is permissible according to the law of their land of origin." Moreover, De Wolf says that only one of the spouses can move to Belgium through family reunification.

Source: HLN (Dutch)
We'll leave the question of why Antwerp has or needs large communities from Morocco, Pakistan and Mauritania for another time.

What interests me here is the implicit double standard - the Belgian authorities will control what they do on their own territory, but not what those in their charge do - even if those people are residents who have been generously allowed to come and live in Belgium as opposed to being born there.

If these men are known about, they should be prosecuted - it is that simple.

Why should there be one rule for foreign men and another for Belgians?

All allowing men with two or more wives to live in Belgium does is significantly increase the number of children the Belgian taxpayer must pay to bring up, as well as making the law an ass.

The Daily Mail Suffers a Sense of Humour Failure

The Daily Mail brings us the following outrageous, barely believable story from this year's BNP Red, White & Blue Festival:

The BNP have often denied being a racist party.

But as a man dressed as U.S. president Barack Obama was put in stocks, the true colours of the party were clear for all to see.

The shocking scene was part of the BNP's annual Red, White and Blue festival which is taking place in Codnor, Derbyshire this weekend.

So, what we are supposed to conclude here is that because Obama is black, he is above mockery and being lampooned, something which pretty much all politicians all over the world are subjected to (except of course in repressive states)?

Would we be urged to be disgusted if the mask depicted Reagan, Thatcher, Bush, even Brown?

It's clearly a charity game where people throw wet sponges at the person in the stocks, not an effigy; perhaps the BNP simply have contempt for the man and his ridiculous policies, or his even more ridiculous cult of celebrity.

Perhaps they should have made a film imagining his assassination instead - it might have been shown on Channel 4!

Incidentally, I don't remember the Mail concluding that, for example, the following shocking scenes show the true nature of Islam:

Which one is a bit of harmless fun with a political flavour, and which one is genuine murderous hatred?

Double Stanards over Arab-Israeli Conflict

Over the weekend, 28 "Palestinians" were killed and over 120 wounded in clashes in Gaza.

At one point, security forces even had a gun battle with extremists inside a mosque.

Strangely, the Left and Islamic lobbies in Britain and the West have remained silent on these events.

But it's not so strange, is it? The reason they are silent is because Hamas forces and an al-Qaeda-backed pretender (which wants to create an Islamic emirate in the Gaza strip because those damn Hamas softies just aren't strict enough) were responsible for the violence, not Israeli forces trying to protect their country from violence and terrorism.

Proof, if any were needed, that Muslim deaths are not what all the fuss is about when Israel launches anti-terror operations.

As always, it seems Muslim lives do not matter when other Muslims are doing the killing.
