MAHAJAN: DEFEATED CLIENT HURLS ACID IN COURT

WEMBLEY An unsuccessful appellant tried to blind a team of lawyers in a horrifying acid attack at the High Court, a jury heard today). Ashok Mahajan, 54, showered a barrister, solicitor and pupil with the contents of a bottle of hydrochloric acid after his race discrimination appeal was thrown out, it was said.

DHIR: PROPERTY INVESTOR JAILED FOR TORTURING BROTHERS OVER BUSINESS DEAL

STOKE NEWINGTON, N LONDON; RAINHAM, ESSEX; BELVEDERE, GRAVESEND, KENT. A property investor and his henchman were jailed for a total of 14 years today (mon) for holding a blowtorch to a business rival's face. Sanjeev Dhir, 34, and righthand man Ranjit Gojra, 37, abducted Mohammed Nawaz, and his brother Haq after a property deal went wrong.

OGBONNA-JACOB: MIDWIFE DENIES LEAVING PARENTS ALONE TO DELIVER THEIR BABY

HACKNEY, BETHNAL GREEN; EAST LONDON An experienced midwife today (Tues) denied walking off to find nappies as a woman was giving birth and then waving the placenta in front of her face. Eunice Ogbonna-Jacob, 49, also pressurised the mum, known as Patient A, into having an epidural when she did not want one, the Nursing and Midwifery Council has heard. The little girl's parents were forced to deliver their daughter themselves and were left frantic with worry when the tot was delivered with the umbilical chord around her neck.

MUSEKIWA: NURSE STRIPPED ELDERLY LADY NAKED AFTER SHE WET HERSELF

WALSALL, WORCESTER, W MIDLANDS. A nurse stripped an elderly woman naked when she wet herself and left her standing in full view of other patients, a misconduct was told today (Tues). Memory Musekiwa, 35, allegedly shouted at the pensioner: 'I give you a buzzer and you wet all over the floor, now I've got to clean this mess up.'

MOYO: NURSE INSISTED ON PRIVATE MEETING WITH 16-YEAR-OLD STUDENT

SALFORD, MANCHESTER; SALE, CHESHIRE. A male nurse insisted on a private 'meeting' with a girl less than half his age so the two could 'just talk a little more', a misconduct hearing was told today (Tues). Simayeda Moyo, 41, worked with the 16-year-old when she was on a student placement in Manchester. A teenage student nurse told today (MON) how a married colleague more than twice her age begged to be her boyfriend and declared his love for her. The 16-year-old, referred to as Miss B, was on a hospital placement when Simayeda Moyo, 41, confessed his feelings to the shocked youngster.

COPACOPA: BAN FOR MOONLIGHTING NURSE WHO RAKED IN £600 IN SICK PAY

NORTHAMPTON; LIVERPOOL. A nurse who raked in more than £600 in sick pay from the NHS while moonlighting at another hospital was suspended for a year today (Mon). Clementine Copacopa, 35, worked 13 shifts in two months for the Capio Nightingale Hospital in Liverpool after a doctor had signed her off sick from her main job in a psychiatric unit.

ROLDAN: LAUGHING NURSE TOSSED WET WIPES AT DISABLED PATIENT'S FACE

SALFORD, ECCLES, MANCHESTER. A nurse tossed wet wipes at a disabled patient's face and laughed as she stuck two fingers up at him, a hearing was told today (Mon). Vilma Roldan, 36, then slapped the man’s hand and repeatedly prodded his foot with a probe when working at the neuro high dependency unit at Hope Hospital in Salford, Manchester.
